Maybe this comes up often in this thread, I apologize.
Depends on the team. Big market team like Dodgers or Yankees then they'd probably go up. Otherwise they'd probably drop initially but they'd go back to normal once he started playing and being himself. All that said, a trade won't happen. He has a no trade clause, he wanted to be Angel for life. I don't see him changing his mind and suddenly agreeing to a trade even if one was capable of happening.

That's a nice card. I'm not a phone guy, can you scan the hologram with a partial part of that? It'd be interesting to know what game it was used in and how he played.

The no trade is painful for me. Its like he has no desire to get a ring, prefers comfortable. I wish he had gone to Philly like all the rumors said he would.

Shouldn't be surprising he seems uncomfortable with media attention or attention at all. He should have went to the Braves. Would have fit right in with Freeman.

If he gets sick of not winning in LA, he could push for a trade and waive the no trade clause.

I'm not sure what would cause the urgency. This is in 10th year with the Angels.

Mike likes to be big fish in little pond.

Going to a big market is not his thing.

His contract solidified that.

Not true! Chuck Finley played with the Angels
for over a decade and got anxious to play for
a World Series Contender and got traded to Cleveland
and guess what the Angels wound up winning the
Title a couple years later. My intuition tells me the
same thing will happen with Trout. They have some key
pieces. They just need to shore up their pitching.

Remember when everyone was mocking his batting average?

Stats seem pretty in line now.

And yet the biggest thing pulling him down individually is dWAR. As one who watches many of the games I really don’t see him as a liability at all- must less one of the worst defensive players in the game. I’m he looks pretty darn good out there and still makes great plays. Yet the calculations seem to suggest otherwise. What is it? I know someone mentioned first step is slow. But as I understand it’s always been that way and his speed accounts for it. I’ll defer to others, but this stat continues to not only baffle me, but also hold him back and feeds the defensive liability. Hell at 0 he would be near the leaders in war.

I’m with you. Trout being a defensive liability does not pass the eye test IMO.

I do know that he plays deeper than the average CF, so it would take him longer to get to a ball in front of him. This could give the appearance that he is slower.

He says he prefers playing deeper because he would rather attack the ball then try to back up and catch it. Also this helps to prevent doubles. TheAngels/Trout know the pitiching staff will give up hits so some of it is minimizing the damage.

Congrats- I was wondering if you got that one yet. I think I snagged the first one on eBay- of course many more have been listed.
