I’m really hopeful for this sign - it has been the basis that makes Trout and Bregman head and shoulders above all other players... to get Acuna on that level would be AMAZING!!!

yup, we got to find positives in Acuna after a terrible start.

what i like is that he's been on base in 9 of his last 10 games, be it a hit or walk, and that's good stuff.

First 8 games slash line of .152/.243/.212 with a lot of Ks

Last 6 games .350/.519/.650 with 7 walks and 3 Ks

Things are going to be skewed one way or another for many over a 60 game season compared to a 162 game season but the last 6 should be more indicative of his season than the first 8.

I honestly have no idea as I haven't looked at anything to do with cards in months. I'd imagine Ohtani is down but Canning is off to a great start

2nd, dont you guys think there is something wrong when the only pumping that's being done is well, he is taking more walks....??!

Again, I have money into him too, but I'm not seeing much that makes me think wow this guy is unreal!

Ron has proven to be really good at it.
Will he have the work ethic and determination to become consistently great?
I cant wait to find out.
One of the most exciting young players to come along and MLB sure could use a star that transcends us old white guys.

I think some are grasping for straws on both ends. I don't think anyone should be jumping up and down either way. To declare a season over and a player done based on the first 8 games is dumb. Even as bad a start as he had. Anyone acting like he's killing it because he's walked a lot recently is silly as well.

His talent is unreal and I'd be shocked if he doesn't end with numbers similar to what he's put up so far in his career. His K/BB ratio over the last 6 games just shows he's seeing the ball much better than to begin with and is encouraging. The slash line he has over the last 6 games is great as well but its still just 6 games. The counting numbers aren't there yet but IF he maintains his current form then they will certainly come.

No one can look at 14 games in a baseball season and make any real judgments. Its way too small a sample size. Numbers change drastically over the first month or so of a season. He could come out over the next week and hit 4 or 5 HRs in 7 games and his numbers will look great. He's done similar on a number of occasions.

Like I said already, this season is going to make a number of players numbers look odd potentially. There's not a long season for everything to average out so an extended slump is going to really be glaring. By the same token an extended hot streak will be glaring as well.

He’s still running around throwing things at Markakis having fun, his spirits aren’t low and isn’t showing any signs of quitting or being a drag.

I bet he goes off like the member above stated, 4-5 hrs in a few games. Heck, meow I wouldn’t be surprised to see him pop 2 out in a game here shortly...
