I sold that Braun for $155 on eBay to a user who now owns I think he said 33 or 34 Braun 1/1s. So I'm very happy it went to a great home.

Damn. One of my favorite decisions they made is switching from green to silver on the AS refractors. The silver really pops.

Man. Phil Hughes must have opened a lot of boxes. Lots of his color is listed on Ebay now.
Whoever does his listings does some of my Ebay pet peeves. "Invest." "Rare." I don't need you to tell me a /5 card is rare, dude.

I went back and forth on opening. I sat down with my son tonight and we opened up all three of my MC boxes. Extremely pleased with the results.
Base: 1x Robert, 2x Bo, 2x Yordan Boxtoppers: Gleyber, Lindor, Freeman Refeactors: Meadows, Merrifield, Kepler Gold Refractors: Gregorius, Gallen, Hader Black Refractors: Dwight Smith Jr, Tommy Pham Auto: Ronald Acuña Jr /20 Could maybe have made more money selling, but the memory of my 7 year old jumping up and down and hugging me is better than any $. For a product that only guarantees 1 refractor these are absolutely loaded as advertised

Congrats on the Acuna... that's sick one!
As an aside, that's like the third time I have seen someone hit both Meadows and Merrifield in a 2 or 3-box break. So I guess if you open one with one of those two, Acuna coming. |

For how good the product is - 8 boxes = 728 cards, I graded 12 kept like 5, I've got 276 cards left priced at $566 and that's moving entirely as singles or max of 3 per lot listing. Haven't had one that good since Bowman Sapphire and Chrome Sapphire in terms of clearing out everything

Someone yesterday said my Trout/20 might be 3k-5k, I personally like the green over the gold, I feel like that might be realistic.

If you enjoy ripping at all... I have never enjoyed ripping a product as much as this one.
I ripped a lot of 2018 Update. The floor on Flashbacks is so much higher. A hobby box of Update is ~$600 and you'll usually end with your top card as the Acuna base at ~$50 with rarely anything better. I'm sure someone will check my quick math here, but here's what I come up with... Here... roughly half the boxes will have Robert (~$200). Half the boxes will have Trout (~$50). Half will have Lux (~$35). Half will have Acuna/Soto/Alvarez (each ~$25). Every box is (almost?) guaranteed to have two great looking /50 cards (gold numbered, refractor not numbered) with a short, star-heavy, checklist. And half the boxes have a /25 with that same short checklist. One in 6.5 boxes has an autograph, again from a very short checklist. One in 8.5 boxes has a red. One in ~45 boxes has a super. The odds of getting a short numbered card are so much better in this product... and then after you get one, the odds of it being a good name are significantly higher. Granted, there's a (minuscule) chance of getting a down-payment on a house in 2018 Update... but for fun... this product can't be beat. |
