If that is not what they mean, it is horrible messaging. If you need to explain a slogan, it is a bad slogan.

That’s not what it says at all. People are running around like chickens with their heads cut off saying that the police are no longer going to exist. Those people are idiots or they’re just blatantly lying for political purposes.

Really so you believe that Joe is going to serve his full 4 years? No conspiracy just reality. How many people are still able to work a full time job at 80+ years old that is not the level of travel and stress of the US President. Obama looked like he aged 20 years by the time he left office and he is what 25 years younger.

I'm still not 100% in the belief that the convention ends with Biden as the nominee.

There are some interesting months ahead prior to the election, and an interesting 6 weeks prior to the convention for the Dems.

A lot of time for a lot of change.

You really are clueless. What do you think "defund the police" means then? Do you really think people are going to be ok with no changes?

I am not sure exactly how defunding the police works but I would be ok reducing the 3 speed traps I pass by everyday on my way to work.

This would be very interesting if it did happen. I'm not sure how people would react at this point. It would be crazy.

Did you not read the article in the post before yours ? There are definitely communities/cities that are wanting to DISMANTLE their police forces and replace them with god knows what at this point. Did you not read about the CHOP "experiment" in Seattle. I'm sorry you think people are blatantly lying for political purposes, but you need to get your head out of the sand and realizes yes there are a lot of people wanting to get rid of the police.

His id says he lives in Seattle so that is all you need to know. Maybe he is upset that he had to leave CHOP and the summer of free love. I wonder how much taxpayer money is going to spent to clean up that mess.

We can debate the efficacy of any sort of abolish/defund the police movement, but to suggest it’s not being floated out there and doesn’t have any traction simply isn’t true. It’s also one of the main points of the BLM movement.

https://www.foxnews.com/us/black-liv...abolish-police

"One of the things that we are demanding over five years is the complete abolition. We don't want to see any police in our community," Ndgo told Fox News in an interview Tuesday. "Over the course of those five years, it gives time for the community to begin to build what is needed. We aren't looking to leave any kind of vacancy around the issue of safety."

I’m not here to tell people what they should or shouldn’t want. Although I’d suggest that abolishing the police and replacing it with any sort of alternative is not going to go well. I think reform is a better way to go about it, and some of the ideas I’ve read have been great. But if there are communities that want no police, have at it. With a “no turning back” clause implemented, of course.

Okay, you're talking about the people saying that defund the police means no police? Most people don't think that, though the CHAZ and Minneapolis Council announcing that they are replacing the police with community resources doesn't help that perception.

Defund the police is still a horrible slogan that most people think means spending less on law enforcement. It feeds perfectly into a Trump law and order narrative, which makes me think Trump has moles inside leftist organizations pushing these stupid ideas and slogans to make the left look crazy.

Then you need to change your slogan to something more intelligent. And anyones a moron for thinking defunding anything will solve the obviously lacking training in the police department. I personally want to meet the moron who thought “hey it’s a great idea to defund a poorly trained department who is responsible to save lives”. I swear you can’t make this dumb stuff up.

Then when more people get killed from poorly trained police, this time we can go blame the people who want to defund it.

Talk about conspiracies. It doesn't take moles to make some of the left organizations look crazy, they are. And to be fair vice versa

And according to BLM Philadelphia representative and activist YahNé Ndgo, the chapter has developed a five-year plan to do just that.

"One of the things that we are demanding over five years is the complete abolition. We don't want to see any police in our community," Ndgo told Fox News in an interview Tuesday.

The only positive thing I see out of the defund the police movement is once the left realizes murder and theft goes up, maybe they'll treat the police a little different.

Not saying the police is perfect but defunding them will only create bigger problems.

Judging harshly those you don't align with politically, spreading hearsay, calling a lot of us cult members, simply saying "...how in the hell...".

You do you, but I'd hesitate to throw out there "devout christian" when you type/talk the same way as a lot of us simple folk.

The problem is that the stigma has always been on the people who report police misconduct and not on those officers committing the misconduct. That must change, once and for all, and that means its time for some people to find a new line of work.

Speaking of work...

I am also simple - I am also one to have an opinion, just as a majority of the individuals on this thread have.

I will apologize for the "cult" comment - as that was unfair and not needed at all. I will not edit the thread, I said that in - that would be going back to change words I said that in hindsight where inappropriate.

Your last sentence got me to thinking .... I was raised a roman catholic and went to private school for 9 years (those nuns beat us good) and were always told to not lie.......

My thought is this: if an individual believes what they say to be true and another believes it to be a lie..... who is correct?

I do enjoy this thread and I absolutely respect every single person in here who posts - regardless of their point of view. I also enjoy thinking and learning ......
