I've been buying cellos at the LCS for $12 apiece for the last couple months. Today, they were $28.50. Since I'm a degenerate gambler I still bought a few, hit a Trae insert, Luka insert, and a gem-minty-fresh Luka rwb

I do not think this is sustainable across most products. Sure some that are relatively priced lower might catch on and go up, but overall I see sales getting flat. I just don’t know how much more growth is really there until MVPs and championships are achieved. Just my opinion

I think both can keep decent pricing (Luka is going to level off eventually, Zion or not), it'll probably just take away from secondary guys or fringe players. "risky" money people were putting into the MPJs and Markelle Fultz's of the world will go into the "guaranteed" superstars instead

This is not the peak. His base Prizm PSA 10 is $150. As long as he's playing at this level, I can see $250+ this year. You can do the math on what that means for the parallels.

As a warriors fan but also owner of Luka in both cards and fantasy team, I’m conflicted emotionally.

JK, any hope I had for the Ws this season is gone, let him drop 50 on us!

I am not sure how you can say sales are getting flat. It seems like the total opposite.

If Giannis can go from $100-$125 to $600 in less than a year, I think you are underestimating just a bit.

Can’t compare a Giannis Prizm to Luka Optic. Luka Prizm will always outsell Optic. It’s his premier base RC. Luka Optic is more comparable to Giannis Select, which are somehow about equal in price right now.

I think we can still see steady growth throughout the year. Price bumps will accompany the following:

-1st All-Star team
-Mavs stay competitive in the West
-MVP consideration, or at least wins MIP
-All-NBA team

And if he plays well in the playoffs, he'll get another healthy bump in price.

He will eventually need to win MVP and/or a championship. But I think people will give him the benefit of the doubt for a few years. He's 20. Harden and Westbrook are 30+

Also, his Optic/Prizm/high end stuff is going up like crazy. But there are still some other brands that are relatively affordable.

But seriously, once Select gets crazy high like Optic and Prizm, are there any other chrome+shiny cards on the market? Obsidian? Chronicles Phoenix/Crusade parallels? Or are we going to start seeing a rise in Optic/Prizm insert silver/holos?
