Topps 3D baseball set returns for another season On Demand

Opened one of three. Got nothing.

A couple days later got skunked on two 2018 Holiday boxes so I said forget that and opened one of my other 3D boxes.

Tatis Motion, Keston RC and a Vlad RC

The prices on RCs in this product are sky high. Eloy at 76 with time to go.
Also noticed the sapphire rcs at auction are going huge compared to this time/product last year.
I love lenticular so I got a few singles last year.
I def did not see this taking off like this.
Who is buying in on this? Everyone?

Hello Everyone.

I'm brand-new to this forum, and this is my first post.


My Pete Alonso 3-D card (#475) appears to be a semi-motion card. His bat and left arm appear to move when you tilt the card back and forth. Other than the "Motion" sub-set, none of my other 3-D cards appear to do this. (I have 5 others.)

Is this a variation/ short-print?

Are there any others like this?

Any help would be appreciated.

The base cards don't really move. Some of them have a small bit of movement in a glove, bat, or arm, but for the most part only the background appears to slightly shift.

This is what I would consider a "semi-motion" card. (As is the case with my Pete Alonso card, where only his bat and left arm appear to move when you tilt the card back and forth.)

Which are the other ones that have this feature?

I'll be sending in some of mine to PSA in the November thread.. more or less for resale. I don't collect any of the guys I pulled but I know others due. The stuff I saw last year in BGS cases still looked really good and doesn't lose the 3D imagery.

Yeah I got a pack of 3D in my Mystery Box from Houdini and got the Eloy Motion

Got 3 boxes staring at me.
I'm thinking of opening one and seeing how long I can hold out on the others.
The vast, vast majority of these are getting cracked sooner than later I would think.

Yeah, I dropped some off at my LCS and a lot of the people hadn't heard of them. But once they saw them in person, they were on board.

Got my 5 packs in. The first 3 were BRUTAL.

The next 2 had 2x Pete Alonso and 1x Eloy. Phew.

Also had decent names like Correa, Bryce Harper, Yelich, Arenado x2, Buehler, DeGrom, and rookies of Brendan Rodgers, Chavis and Urias.

I don't collect Alonso at all... Looking for a Vlad or Tatis, anyone interested in a trade?

I hit the same group of the 3D motions 4 packs in the row, but one of the guys is eloy so i cant complain

Bought Vlad’s 2019 Topps 3D RC as a pre-order back in July for $45.99 and when it was released and selling for more than double that, I thought there was no way I’m getting this. Shout out to seller “free_shipping_on_cards” for coming through. These cards are LEGIT much more beautiful in person than the scan shows.

Yep, these cards are absolutely amazing in person.

As Topps continues to make these each year, more people realize how nice they are in person, and more and more people realize the product itself is only made up of the top 100 cards from S1, S2, and Update, prices for these limited early releases are likely going to get crazy.

Invest in these now if you like them. Years fly by. Before we know it, people will be hard pressed to find any of these early issues at reasonable prices.

LOTS of dupes, felt I opened the same pack 4 times. If I see one more Chris Paddack Motion insert....ooof.

I always appreciate these posts. In general, posters want to show their nice hits and are less inclined to report the negatives. You can get a false sense reading through threads without these types of posts.
