Alex, what are companies I could live without?

Well, sure, you don't want anything around that deprives you of manifesto-writin' time.

Also, "All In The Family", the TV series which gave you your screen name was made in California.
You/re welcome for that, too.

All of those countries would move to the actual US if California seceded and became Socialist. Unless, you decided to not allow it North Korea like. No company is going to put all of the money they make into a giant bucket to be split up between the unwashed masses.

They could do that now.
Why don't they?

I hear ya, thanks to all of the cheating and what-not, but a lot of people absolutely adore that particular California product.

More and more manhood are yearning to be free in Norcal.

The bums are fighting back and this is what they are doing on the bus. I was one of the witness.

Honestly, as a lifelong Californian I would like to see the state split up. Most of Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and San Diego counties are conservative but our votes get wiped out by Los Angeles and Marin counties. I don't want to see the electoral college done away with but it needs to be overhauled IMHO. It'd be nice to see it broken down by congressional districts.

It should be pointed out that California pays $227 billion dollars in taxes yearly. This is twice as much as the next most which is New York. It is also more the the 26 red leaning states combined. It's not us that needs you, it's you that need us.

You are barely a donor state.

From this report, Cali paid in 2014 $369B, and received $356 in aid. I think we would be okay without the $13B.

https://www.politifact.com/californi...re-it-gets-dc/

In January 2017, the California Legislative Analyst’s Office said by several measures California is, indeed, a donor state, but just barely. It receives $0.99 in federal expenditures per dollar of taxes paid, which is below the national average return for states of $1.22 per dollar paid, according to its review of a 2015 New York Comptroller study.

The LAO also cites figures from a March 2016 report by the Pew Charitable Trusts. It found the federal government spent nearly $356 billion in California in fiscal year 2014, for salaries and wages, grants, contracts, retirement benefits and other benefits. That same year, California paid about $369 billion in total federal tax -- or about $13 billion more than it received -- according to the Internal Revenue Service Data Book, 2014.

I'm in MN. One of the least dependent states. While Cali people are not that dependent, your government is the 29th most dependent.
