"Felt light", lmao. A single card weighs, what, 2 grams according to Google. Even throw it in a heavy-duty one-touch and it's still not gonna be even half an ounce. Nobody's gonna notice that kind of weight difference inside a box, especially not knowing what the sender used for padding. You either got scammed or you found Superman's new alias.

There was at least 4 graded cards, not raw

You're still probably hovering around a pound at best unless they've switched to lead slabs.

Actually, make that six ounces according to some guy on a forum ten years ago. Yeah, you're not going to notice that one way or the other inside a box.

Buy a couple blaster boxes, empty one, leave a pack in the center of the other, fill them both with wadding so you can't feel the pack bouncing around, and try to figure which box has the pack. It's smaller scale (pack weighs less than four slabs, but the blaster box is smaller and made of far thinner cardboard than a shipping box), but adequate for demonstration purposes.

I'm sorry ComplexBurrow but you're wrong, I sold two graded Doncic's here a while back and had them in a box at work to ship out along with a few other boxed up single cards just in toploaders and almost put the wrong labels on but I knew immediately what box had two graded cards in it, it felt like a damn brick was in there compared to the other two boxes.

This is 100% muscle memory and subconscious. I've done the same before.

Go ahead and repeat it double-blind, where someone else has packed the cards (and you don't even know what packing material they've used for infill), and then I'll get you and your amazing spider-senses to tell me which boxes of Heritage have the posters in them.

Or are you just throwing top-loaders in a box loose and rattling around? Because that's completely different, and you're still not noticing a weight difference, just a shifting center-of-gravity.

I weighed five cards in various holders. Top loaders, PSA, and BGS cases. There is quite the difference.

An empty box versus a box with cards flopping around? Sure, that's noticeable.

An empty box versus a box with cards, both boxes sized absolutely skin-tight? Possibly noticeable.

Two Small Priority Flat Rate boxes, both full of the dissolving peanuts BO uses, one of them with cards? Ehhh I doubt it man, not unless the cards are off-center in the box.

A box you received in the mail from some guy, where you don't know how he packed the cards? That's squarely in the "give me a break" category.

12 grams isn't even half an ounce, so I agree you can't tell a difference. The weights I pictured are in ounces. There's a big difference between 2 ounces and 12 ounces.

I weighed after the fact and the 5 slabs were roughly 96 grams.

I just weighed five PSA slabs and got 216 grams. Are you sure you sent all five? Something is literally not adding up.

My math might be wrong off the top of my head... there were 5 slabs in the box. All I can be sure of.

Problem is that none of your cards look like they are serial numbered, so the thief will just crack, and there will be no way of knowing they ever were your cards. People are scumbags.

OP I am sorry this happened to you. Just read through this thread. Sounds super shady. And seriously. If guy had 11 ITrader and required YOU to send first and you have 6, that is a joke. Sounds like you got scammed and that is terrible. HAs the other member posted on here since this happened? Like to hear his/her side

Yup this could get interesting but you got scammed. I would say this has 1% chance of being a mailing issue and 99% chance you got played out by the member here. Those slabs are already cracked and cards on there way to a group sub.

I would be shocked if this was the first time this clown did anything like this. There's got to be some other record of similar deceit perpetrated by this individual. I know it's FedEx but i'd also reach out to the USPS postal inspector and see if they can shed any light on other previous claims regarding shipments to that address.

You're your own best advocate. All it takes is some phone calls and a bulldog mentality.

This is alot of money.
I would stop posting and start opening police reports in yours and the receivers city, and getting on the phone with management from the shipping service.

This is grand larceny and the police wont take it lightly, nor should the shipping service.

As you can see this thread has already begun going off the rails as people think its pertinent to discuss whether or not one can tell whether a box weighs more or less.

So I would suggest you get to it, but before doing so, you NEED to name the other person in this transaction.
Your refusal to do so will net you zero support whatsoever.
