I don't dare to make a determination presently on what's going on, but like many I'm certainly watching and hoping for some more information. I sincerely doubt the extent of what went on with the Lebron's is all that's occurred here.

DurantKevin dropping his huge monologue about high end collectors, looking down on everyone, and then getting outed for selling bobbleheads and not even shipping them. You can't make this stuff up. If Eric knew about the bobblehead shenanigans, there's no way he would have taken your call last night. He definitely doesn't have time for small-timers.

Eric owns a lot of trimmed/altered cards that are not disclosed properly. There is no proof that Eric was involved in the process of altering them. There is proof that Eric is very-well versed in the high-end market and the cards that populate it. I'd go so far to call him an expert, honestly. It's almost disrespectful to suggest he didn't know they were altered.

This return was a year and a half ago and I have transitioned into mostly high end. I like the cards and the economics of the cards much more. You are still not telling that story correctly but I get that you're just trying to make me look bad. The high end community has been much more easy to deal with and I have really enjoyed it. The people are older, mature, professional and there's no name calling. You can follow me on IG but I don't post everything.

We stayed in touch every now and then but in September I mentioned clipping a BGS 9.5 (with 9 centering) out of the case and submitting it to PSA to try and get a 10. He got triggered. Remember how I called him a “purist” in the hobby? It turns out, he disdains the greed that has entered the hobby, and he is very much against re-grading cards. In fact, $40k of the cards he sold me were .5 from bumping to the next BGS grade. He has not responded to me in any form since September 26, 2018 when I admitted that I re-grade cards. So you still think Jack knew the card was going to be trimmed?

I noticed something else when I was looking through my text convo with Jack. I asked him if he had ever done a deal with Eric. He said no. I have phone records.

Before last night, I had never spoken to Eric in person or on the phone; we had only exchanged a couple emails in which I attacked his character and all the while he spoke calmly and asked that we speak on the phone to clear things up. I had always refused.

Our phone conversation was very cordial. I asked him how he knew Jack and he said they almost did a deal last year (October 2017). Eric thought they had reached an agreement and sent money to Jack. Jack then re-traded the deal (sound familiar?) and said that unless Eric sold him a BGS 9.5 Giannis NT RPA in the trade, the deal was off. Eric didn’t want to sell his BGS 9.5 Giannis NT RPA, so Jack refunded Eric the money and kept his cards. No deal was made. And there is proof of the money transfers.

In conclusion, my guess is that Jack is just trying to get back at Eric for not selling him a BGS 9.5 Giannis NT RPA that he still wants but doesn’t want to pay for. Jack is also probably bitter at Eric because he thinks Eric trimmed his old Lebron RPA. Jack doesn’t have a Lebron RPA or BGS 9.5 Giannis RPA…guess who has lots of them?

We still don’t know who trimmed the 74/99 and the 87/99 but I would literally bet my collection that Eric had nothing to do with it. I say this based on my 2 hour phone call with Eric and lots of other phone calls with different collectors over the last 48 hours. I could write 10 pages on why I think Eric is innocent.

For those of us who grade lots of cards, we know that BGS and PSA can be wildly inconsistent. If the card sizes and meets their requirements, it gets slabbed at the subjective grade of whoever grades the card. Those companies have been slammed with submissions and they are understaffed. The highest profile cards get graded the most harshly. Back in 2014 and 2015 there were plenty of more expensive cards than the Lebron RPA. The graders missed these 2. To the cynics who claim that people bribe the graders, please just stay off the forum. Your unsubstantiated claims do nothing for the hobby except breed more cynicism.

You just get in the hobby and are defending a guy who AT THE VERY LEAST has shady cards. Nobody can say for certain how he came to own those, or when they became “shady”. What we all know is that they are shady and that eventually they will be sold.

All this thread is here for is a warning to others and a healthy reminder.

What went completely over your head, is that you are actually the mark for these shady dealings. These high-end pieces that have suspect prices are being passed along to you, because you are the mark.

Nobody here is upset with you because of the cards you own. They’re upset because you came across as a tool in those posts, claiming the high horse when most here just look and laugh because you’re the EXACT type of person to fall victim to this stuff.

As long as you don’t ask the forum to donate $1 to you, you’re good. Just listen when some of these guys try to educate you because there are plenty of people well versed in how these schemes go.
