He's going to get pitched around.
Which in turn will lead him to swing at pitches he shouldn't.
Will revisit after the season.
My post on 6-18.

There might never be another Trout. He's Mantle with 2 legs.

The hobby has the attention span of a mosquito. They will always hype at least 3-5 prospects to be the next possible Trout every year.

Are they in the delusion phase or the denial phase?

I think we're at the Fear state at this point.

What Jim said. Fear is setting in now that he is teetering on breaking major records in a bad way and his mvp hopes are sliding.

Capitulation is the fun part.

I disagree. It's in Denial stage. His average is just shy of .300 and clectors still have high hopes of him winning MVP. After the season is when it'll be in the bull trap stage (knife catchers, dip buyers)

There are still buyers and sellers in both the Mania and Blow Off phases

There's always buyers and sellers in every phase of a market cycle.

The problem arises when the ratio between the two starts tilting.

WAR stat of the day.

Aaron Judge ended the first half of the regular season w/ 5.5 Fangraphs WAR. He now has 6.0 Fangraphs WAR.

This means that his second half so far, which now reads .171 / .329 / .368 is still worth 0.5 WAR in one month. Expand that across six months, and Fangraphs suggests this current version of Aaron Judge is still a 3.0 WAR player.

This thread is funny, it took 350 pages for this swarmy greasy bunch of vultures to be able to rip their talons into Judge. I can imagine them salivating at their beaks as they roamed around the prairie waiting for Judge to fail. What were you vultures doing the first couple hundred pages of this thread when Judge was succeeding? Sobbing into your room or popping pimples in front of your basement mirror? What a miserable bunch, taking so much pleasure in another human being's moments of failure...

Message board haters are a phenomena. I still scratch my head.

Just pointing out the obvious, not wishing him failure. Only the delusional clectors, who kept throwing stones at anyone who said otherwise, were buying.

What impact will the ROY award announcement have on card prices and sales?

Been baked in a long time ago... it won't stop the freefall... which is the MVP being torn away, trip-crown, along with all the other hype.
