Default How much did your wedding cost?

According to some research the average cost of a wedding in the United States in about $26,000 (of course, these are today's costs). Average Wedding Cost in the United States is $26,444.

My question to all of you is, how much did your wedding cost? It doesn't matter to me how much you personally funded, but rather, what were the total costs? We're talking everything...attire, entertainment, flowers, decorations, gifts, favors, invitations, jewelry, photography, videos, planners, venue, catering, bar, food, rentals....EVERYTHING....but not counting the honeymoon. Just the total wedding costs. I've you've had more than one wedding, for the purposes of this poll, pick the most expensive one.

This is an anonymous poll.

We were right at 20k. After all the stress and money I think we should of just eloped, but my mom would disown me if she couldn't see me marry.

I have a large Italian family, I think my family attendee list was near 150. My wife has like 20 people in her side. It was a dego fest!

I dont think with had 3K invested in ours, and thats including Church Rental, wedding dress, and the rehersal dinner and entire dinner spread.

The biggest mistake we made was trusting my brother in law to DJ the wedding and he canceled last minute and we opted to do it ourselves. This aspect was a total failure, but using a friends pole barn and doing a BBQ

2nd biggest one was getting married 90 miles north of the wedding reception. Great idea on paper, but in concept it didnt work out nearly as well. Thought process was lots of family and friends could see us at either one if they didnt want to travel the distances between the two locations. For the most part i think most of the family would of been happier just driving and participating in both and if needed they'd of just gotten a hotel.

We came in right around 10 grand. Reception dinner was definitely the most expensive part. Honeymoon was around 5k

Less than $500.
Married at church with about 40 guests. I bought the flowers and borrowed the stands from church. Both of our mothers made finger food, etc. for the reception (also at church). My wife's brother sang one song with a good friend of ours playing guitar. My sister in-law took pictures.

It was very personal, easy, and focused on being married before God and only close friends and family.

Old school.

The guests absolutely loved it!

Gotta ask are we counting the rings?

Either way it was over $50,000.

Not counting honeymoon.

Ours was around 30k but same deal. My wife and I actually asked them to tone it down. Only thing we came out of pocket for was alcohol since her parents are religious and that only set us back 700-800.

Under $5k. We did all the food, I bought all the guys and girls their shoes (we all wore Chuck's ). That also included our photographer, DJ, rental space, alcohol, etc. We do weddings on the cheap and you'd never know it!

Total around 4K. We had it out at the Valley of Fire outside of Vegas. The party bus stocked with liquor was our biggest cost directly involved with the wedding. The honeymoon cruise out of Venice made up the majority of the overall cost.

Mine was roughly $2000 and was probably better than these joke 25k weddings. We got married in a beautiful park right next to the Rothko chapel in Houston (FREE), my dad actually married us (he is an ordained minister), we had the party/reception in the backyard of my parents house (which is in a rather elite neighborhood in Houston), my buddy is a karaoke dj so he cost me $75 and beer. My wife was a manager at the Cheesecake Factory and we had them cater it for virtually nothing. My mom used to be a florist so the cost was the flowers. We rented a couple of tents, and 12 huge round tables which was decorated by my mom.

I don't believe in large parties nor does my wife...there is literally no way you can have meaningful relationships with 300 people, after 75-100 you're just begging for gifts. Also, with the ease of getting a divorce and the rate at which its happening, I think it's a money dump. My wife had already been married before and I don't see the value in an actual "wedding" for me or anyone I know to drop that kinda coin on a party

ours is going to be right below 15k, but it's a destination wedding to Disney World so a good chunk of that is our actual vacation cost.
