Finally Completed! 2009-10 Topps Chrome Basketball Refractor Set

Opened a ton of 2009-10 Topps Basketball when it released because it was the last year that Topps had a basketball license. That year, Topps inserted the Chrome /999 and Chrome Refractor /500 cards into the base Topps product.

Back when it first released, a sold a bunch of it off but must have started to put together the refractor set. About a year or two ago I located the near complete set in a box in my basement. It had a majority of the key rookies like Curry, Griffin, Rubio, Derozen and most of the commons and stars. However, two of the base that were missing were Lebron and Durant and the key rookie that was missing was Harden. I ended up finding a number of the common refractors on COMC and then kept searching for the Lebron and Durant on Ebay which rarely ever popped up.

In the meantime, I was at a show in Westchester, NY last month and decided to get the Curry and the Griffin RCs graded.

Since the show, I was able to find the Lebron and Durant on Ebay which left me with only needing the Harden. Well, it finally came in today, and it is a nice complement to the other two key RCs that I got graded in Westchester.

Not sure what I am going to do with the set yet. I may try and get 9.5's of the other rookies.

And BTW, I had 60+ base Topps Stephen Curry RCs from breaking all the cases and actually have been slowly moving them over the past year. Still have 8 or 9 left that are graded Gem Mint 9.5. But I think I am holding on to them for now.

That's a really good accomplishment. That Curry is going for insane prices when compared to what they use to be a couple years back.

Very nice set. I completed mine about a month ago, took forever to locate a dang Rubio of all players.

I've been so tempted lately to sell the Curry with the prices they are going for right now, but I'm scared they may hold or keep going up at the rate he is going.

Rubio was also one that I had trouble finding when I first started looking to complete it.
