Default Nice little $15,000 box of cards

They kind of remind me of a higher end Leaf.

Lots of nice stuff, the diamonds in that MJ card looked huge, but really....its likely a huge loss. When I buy 2-3 cases of decent product I think the climb back to even is tough....imagine with that lol. Never spend the prices of a new vehicle to most family on cardboard....no matter how financially set you are.

I guess I disagree with this....telling a rich guy not to spend 17000 on a sportscard box is like telling the 98% not to spend 100 on a box...everyone here knows if they had hit the powerball the ups/fedex/mailman would be so sick of delivering cases to our house lol

Will agree to disagree. Most people are chasing pipe dreams and gambling with this anyhow. I would be willing to bet maybe 20% of people buying cards here are using money that in no way affects bills/lifestyle etc.

Do you really think that guy had 17k sitting around to blow? Maybe. Whats the monetary amount that makes someone wealthy? Well that differs from place to place, but figure most people think a 6 figure/ year job as a upper tier job. At $100k / year that case took him till march to make without taxes or figuring in any other bills/cost. Think about that.....

Maybe 5% of people here are making 100k+ year. And that figure may be high.

The autographed cards look pretty cool. But that waste of space MANUFACTURED patch set... what in the world?!?! Who would want to display that? Who would spend any kind of real money on that? Ugggggh.

Did you really use those two phrases together? You need to go slap yourself. I think all of the ink and glue has finally started to short circuit your brain.

I also thought that was kind of dumb. A manufactured patch set that creates the products logo? Uhhhh ok

There's a link to the video for the redemption in the comments on YouTube.

It was an Anaheim Ducks full jersey/equipment from Scott Niedermayer

Exactly what I was thinking. Who cares about a manufactured patch of a masters collection logo? 30 cards that only show the pic of a player and a made up logo patch?

I'm watching it now, and will makes comments as I go:

What is the Mystery redemption for???

$15,000 a box and there's manufactured patches?!?!?!?!?

Gretzky/James auto... wow

Jordan quad diamond... wow Too bad there's a very low chance those are real diamonds

For $15,000, I'm not impressed. The auto's are kind of "meh" to me. Overall, I suppose he could've done a lot worse.

I'd rather pay off what I have left on my mortgage plus take the family on a weekend getaway for that kind of money...

You live in Michigan, that would buy you two houses, maybe three.

Except for the fact that Upper Deck actually makes sports cards. Leaf just buys other peoples cards, packages them into a super ugly box, and acts like a manufacturer.

(yes they have released crap now, but in no way does Leaf Best of Whatever compare to high end UD)

I doubt collectors wants it. I rather sell them an old antique big clock in the middle of london for their collections.

I seriously thought the redemption was going to be a candid camera video of the guy dropping $17 k!

Try Leaf Legends of Sport. Those are all original autographed cards (with the same amount of MLB, MFL, and NBA logos as Upper Deck).
