I know how the site works so I don't need all the rules and guidelines. I'm just curious if COMC is still a good site so sell. I've heard some people say it isn't as relevant as a few years ago. Any help would be appreciated.

Still a great place to sell . They had issues and seem to be fixing those now and turning the corner again.

I think it's great and after doing some selling on eBay recently, I'm going back to COMC.

I bought a card last night at 7:16 pm, priced it for almost double what I paid and it sold at 7:30! The right cards at the right prices will sell. Just don't offer a card that already has 39 examples at .33 and only 1 has sold in the last 4 years!
Good luck!

As others have said, the right card at the right price will sell. However, keep this in mind.... The right card at the right price will sell on the boards here and you don't eat a 20% cash out fee. If you have the right card, and want to move it quick, discount it by 15% of the average eBay completed listing and post it on the boards here, it'll probably sell quick and you'll save yourself 5%.

I'm mainly looking at serial numbered and insert stuff. Probably 90% of what I will send in is less than $10. Just seems like a no brainer to send it to them and let them do all the work for 20%.

Yep, this is their market. Just check the site first to see if there's anything already listed below .75, if there is then either don't send it in or if it's the only copy then you can double down by buying it so that you have the sole copy and can price wherever you want.

What's the average turn around time to list? IE I ship them 200 cards and they receive on February 1st.

And about basic service: that's the time it takes them to finish listing everything. From time to time, you'll get a notification that some of your cards have been listed and you can assign a price.

Do you have to pay anything upfront? Or do they deduct as you sell? If I send 100 cards at the basic level, do I have to pay $25 up front or wait until they sell? I have bought cards from there before but never sold anything there. Thanks!!!

I believe you have to pay before you can sell on there.

I encourage everyone to buy and sell on COMC. Trading or selling on blowout is def the way to go but there are just not enough eyeballs. COMC beats the hell out of Ebay and the audience is growing.

sold 3 cards via amazon this weekend: $38.40, $22.40, $19.20. - probably the same buyer based on the type of cards.
I never know what is going to sell and I've sold so many different cards over the years, so they have a lot of different cards from me ranging in many under $1 to $100+ I do try ebay first and these days I wait for a comc promo to get cheaper listing fees on bulk submissions. Ebay keeps giving me deals on listings and I'm actually doing better than I thought with PWE type sales on low end cards so COMC doesn't get them until later on. I hardly ever sell or buy or trade on here anymore.

I thought I would take a minute to bump this thread up after having recently becoming active on COMC. I've asked a lot of questions about selling on COMC over the past year and wanted to share a little of my experience so far.
I have had an account there for a few years and used it to buy some lower end stuff to complete sets. I just recently sent my first batch of cards for sale. I have had a tremendously positive experience. The batch is estimated to be fully uploaded by May 2nd, but already more than half of it has been added. I have made some quick sales and already have more than my original investment back. The process is painless and transparent. I agree with others who say that buying and trading on BO is the preference, but there just are not enough transactions to be had and the listings are not easily searched. The constant need to bump threads is a challenge. I avoid eBay like the plague. I have been able to sell cards that never got even a PM on BO. The one caveat I will add is that I personally am accepting offers that leave some room for the flippers. This has resulted in me accepting offers a bit below market value, but the same buyers have repeatedly returned with offers on multiple cards.

I'm debating sending some stuff in too but would probably price the same way. After all, I'd rather sell quickly and have people watching my stuff than waiting to sell stuff for a little bit higher. |

I do this with most of my stuff. And accept 95% of the offers i get. I can never say enough good things about them. I know people have their issues - but for me it's exactly what i need and not having to deal with eBay buyer BS is worth it alone.

I'm going to start doing nearly all sales via COMC, even higher end stuff. It's worth it to me to not have to deal with seller drama, shipping nightmares and the countless hours of work that go into selling on ebay. I plow all of my proceeds right back into my collection so the effective fees are actually less than ebay.
I accept a lot of offers, especially when I can tell it's a collector buying the card. The audacity of some offers really gets my goat, though. "Oh hey, I see you have an RC of one of the best young players in the game cheapest on site, cheaper than several recent ebay sales... why don't you go ahead and sell that to me for 50% off so that I can then overprice the crap out of it, mmmmmkay." Then when you make a stiff counteroffer they move by like 5 cents. I've taken to rejecting all offers on certain cards. That said, there are many cards in my port I will gladly sell for a reasonable discount . I'm just more likely to offer good deals during Spring Cleaning or Black Friday than I am to accept low-ball offers immediately after listing when my stuff is already priced pretty aggressively.

I'd highly recommend it. I sent in a bunch of stuff that I didn't want in the PC and had no other way of moving. It was all stuff with collectible value though. The price value of what I sent in ranges from $1.00-$70.00 with most of the stuff being in the $5.00-$20.00 range. I'm very impressed. The only concerns I have is having my cards housed across the country, and having to pay the large fee if I want to cash out. I see it as a way of trading up though. Sell a bunch of stuff and buy one or two nice cards for the PC.

I started selling there about a year ago, and it's been good for moving low end stuff with minimal hassle. Way better than eBay for those types of cards. Higher end not too great yet but I think it needs time to gain exposure- not enough people know about it yet.

Love COMC. Fees are higher than eBay, but it's definitively worth it. Specially if you have a bunch of cards that are around $1.
