Default X-Files Thread

I am devoting 2016 to a Netflix consumption of the entire X-Files series.

I've watched the entire series twice over. Still one of my favorite TV shows ever.

Can't wait until the new mini series.

I started it on Netflix and am maybe two seasons in. It's frustrating, and hard to stick with in my opinion, because a lot of the episodes are great, but a lot of them are just silly. Then again I guess that's what makes so many people like it,because it covers so many things.

When I started it I got really excited because i thought the whole show was going to be about aliens.

See that's the kicker. You gotta accept it's not aliens aliens aliens every episode. That's what makes it so good.

I have to finish the last two seasons that I have been putting off on rewatching. Trying to get it finished by the 24th. Saw a commercial tonight on Fox and forgot it'll be here soon.

I had a blast starting from the beginning to the end about a year ago. I had never watched the show when it was airing because I had no interest in a show solely based on aliens.

So I started watching and I was like...awesome, a show not all about aliens!

Love this show, watched it through twice now and excited for the reboot. The Post Modern Prometheus is my favorite episode. (The black and white episode I'm Season 5).

Is that the one where they are on a ship back during the 40's? If so, that was my absolute least favorite episode of the show. Way too goofy.

No, you're thinking of the one when he's stuck in WWII. The one I'm talking about is the Frankenstein goof with the kid who's obsessed with Cher

They do less monster of the week type shows in season 3 and on. Stick with it. I've found some of their non-alien arc episodes to be the funniest sci-fi TV episodes ever.

Is the episode "Home" available on Netflix? That one was almost never aired in reruns or syndication.

The X-Files is really good. I just got the Blu Ray Collection for Christmas. Can't wait to start watching them again. I actually spent three summers (2009-2011) binge watching the entirety of X-Files, Lost, Battlestar Galactica, Farscape and Babylon 5.

No. That's not Home. When you watch Home you'll understand why it was never aired. I wouldn't even feel comfortable describing it openly here.

I attempted it last year. The last few seasons can be brutal.

I loved the one where Mulder & Scully move into a planned community and have to abide by the rules of the HOA.

Great episode. Also guest starting Abraham Benrubi. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arcadia_(The_X-Files)

Also, the one with Luke Wilson where they have to go to Dallas. . . Vampires before Vampires were cool.

Okay, yeah I liked that episode.

I just hated the acting by Scully in the episode I was speaking of. She sounded like an idiot.

Netflix should have every episode. However I believe they are missing one of the movies.

Yea, they're missing the 2nd movie. It doesn't tie in to the series plot like the 1st one though

Great show and I've seen each episode. I remember seen the word "ISIS," on a poster. Not that it has anything to do with this thread. I'm just throwing it out there, I can't remember the season. It was either 7 or 8.
