Default Asking for money to be sent as gift rant.

I posted this on IG. Just copying and pasting on here so excuse the hashtags.

There's this sick Kobe on eBay. I make an offer seller declines. I message seeing how much he's looking for. He asked for way more than I thought it was worth so I passed. Then he messages me his cell to text him. I did and we agreed on a price, even though I was overpaying. Then he asked if I could pay friends and family cause he didn't want to pay fees. I said I would cover the PayPal fees and he kept insisting I pay friends and family (gift). I told him no way am I ever sending money as gift. He then began to try to accuse me of scamming him. In this hobby you never send money as gift. Excuse my languages but #WTF #gtfoh wish I could've got the card though dang it lol

That's funny, I think covering the paypal fee was the best you could do in this deal, unreasonable that this guy kept asking for sending fund through gift. Yup, just stay away

Same with people selling shoes on ig. I was willing to pay extra 3% for the fees and none of them wanted to, so I said f**k it. I think it's a scam because we are not covered, no way will I ever pay $400 for a pair of shoes and not be covered. End of story!!!

Ha funny you say that because I've seen same things. Think they want money as gifts for kicks cause they're knock offs. I'll never buy kicks off IG. Had a guy on my local Facebook group selling shoes then asking for money as gifts. I was like I'll meet up with you and pay you then he's all in in Atlanta fam. Then why are you on a Utah Facebook group page. Lol

I see his point the seller doesn't really have too much protection when selling online, but that's the just breaks. I agree with you, never would have sent as gift. The only way I'd do that is if he drove to my house and I handed him the cash lol.

This is not true.

You can take many pictures and videos before you ship. When the buyer asks for refund due to damage, the seller can file insurance claim through USPS.

And if the seller believes the buyer actually damages the card intentionally, the seller is protected by Paypal. Paypal would require the seller to file a police report.

With this overpaying price and buyer paying the fees……man this dude just asking way too much. Nobody in this hobby is sending gifts.

I only ask 1 time for fnf and when you did not what to do that is never ask you for it again only said that there was nothing protecting me. Instead you continued to send rude messages saying your not sending fnf which I never ask after the first time. I have never and will never scam someone as I am more mature then that sorry you felt the need to act as a child and try and make me look bad I can assure anyone intrested I only want to achieve maximum money for the very few cards I have that I am only selling for my FAMILY thanks for showing who the kid acually is have a good day and a great New Years.

No buyer will ever send gift with someone they've never dealt with. Very simple.

You refused to do the deal even after OP offered to cover fees. So please stop acting like you didn't get offered the "maximum" value

Even after he said he would cover the fees - It looks like you kept insisting on friends and family so you Don't get "fees took out"
..and this after somebody tried to claim damage on a prior deal, so why on earth would you do this again as a seller and be vulnerable?

Extremely suspicious...
