Default Hasselbeck Proving Luck is Overrated?

4-0 taking the start. Obviously he's not as "dynamic" as Luck, but are we seeing that it's more of the "IND making Luck's success vs. Luck making IND's success?"

Granted, I like the guy, and root for him from time to time, but I don't see him in the Elite group that maybe others do.

Just my opinion.

Hasselbeck has always been a solid qb, Luck still has a lot to prove hes a solid quarterback but still has a lot to work on

Matt Hasselbeck isn't pressing, is playing inside of their offense and is doing what any savvy vet would be doing.

I am sure similar opinions were being formed during Cam Newtons Sophomore year...

If Luck becomes available via trade how many teams do you think would be calling for his services?

All of them with any question whatsoever at the position. Basically most of the league.

I would only say half. If you look at it Oakland, Seattle, Arizona, Jacksonville, Tennessee, Tampa, Pittsburgh, Cincinatti, Baltimore, Green Bay, New England, Atlanta, Carolina, Kansas City are teams that have a young QB to build around or a proven talent, or overpaid a guy to be their signal caller so they do not need him.

Every other team is in the air really. Cleveland would trade all of next years picks to get him, and maybe Josh Gordon comes off his suspension in shape. Who knows

Just because those teams paid money doesn't mean they'll try to improve. KC would cut off their nuts to get Andrew Luck.

For the best chance to win, why not Alex. He hasn't thrown a pick in 8 games. Without Charles, KC can still effectively run the ball and have a solid D.

I think Luck wold put them in worse spots in games than he should. He takes too many chances. He throws a lot of picks

When Hasselbeck is in they call quick passes a lot of the time.

When Luck is in they call deep routes almost every pass and he has to hold it. Plus he is not elite when it comes to accuracy.

They need to use the Hasselbeck game plan when Luck is in and he would play a lot better.

Alex Smith plays solid football and is ok for the system they are trying to run. In the long run you think Alex Smith gives the Chiefs a better chance to be relevant than Andrew Luck if he were to be available?

Wait, Hasselbeck is 4-0? That's impossible because according to every Indy homer the Colts could not possibly win with "the worst O-line and no weapons" in the league...that was with Luck at QB of course...

I said this before and as the season gets closer to the end, would Indy trade Luck for the right offer? A team like Dallas could easily have a top 5 1st rounder to offer. Indy could panic and think Luck won't be as good as they thought and do they want to give him a big contract?

I hope Luck is taking notes from the sidelines.. Who knows, his injuries could be blessings in disguise.

I think it is. The new OC should also be taking notes. Indy's line isn't good enough to protect on a constant barrage of intermediate to deep routes. The quicker the QB can get the ball out, the better it is for everyone involved. The QB minimizes getting hit because he has enough time to throw. The receivers are quick enough to turn the short passes into big gainers. It's how things should have been from the start. Luck needs to take what defense gives him and make intelligent decisions.

I do think the Colts should leave in Hass when Luck gets better.. no reason to pull a 4-0 VET QB for a injury recovering 2-5 QB.

I completely agree. They should not rush him back.
