Default Who is the most coveted autograph?

It seems like with every new topps product that comes out there are more and more autographs of the top tier payers. It used to be hard to track down a Koufax autograph, but now not so much. Out of all the baseball players who are still alive, who still has the most coveted auto?

I think Jeter who only signed a few years with Topps and Fleer and UD. He hasnt signed for the card companies in years.

I would think Ichiro would be pretty high up there

True but they are starting to pump out more of his autos also. I would say that Jeter and Ichiro are the top 2 right now.

In all seriousness Albert Pujols is up there too. I know he has auto's in topps products but not in every single product and usually low #'d.

I'd say for pack-inserted and for rarity's sake- Ichiro. By sales, Trout and Jeter. Of all the players EVER, I'd say Joe Jackson (illiterate and few are out there), Christy Mathewson, or Albert Spalding...

Depends on the generation....

Koufax, Mays, & Aaron are the "big" three....
Nolan Ryan is probably the next most popular.
Pete Rose is still popular despite signing everything in sight....so is Reggie Jackson.
Then you have the guys who don't sign much like George Brett.

Personally, I would say Koufax...

With all the pending redemptions and no cards signed in over a year, Willie Mays has to be up there as well.

Just from a Giants fan perspective, Hunter Pence hasn't signed anything in years. Some sort of disagreement with Topps apparently. If autos came out of him in a Giants uniform, they would go for some good money.

I know they may not be coveted by everyone but for me I'd like to see several Japanese players sign some certified auto cards. Mainly, Masahiro Tanaka. Hideo Nomo. Hideki Matsui. Kazuo Matsui.

Mordecai Brown is probably up there too. And a lot of the old Veteran's Committee inductions like Cap Anson, Eddie Plank, Montgomery Ward, the guys you mentioned etc.

For living players, Jeter and Ichiro definitely come to mind as mentioned

King Kelly's signature probably goes for the most amount all time.

Right now hardest is probably Ichiro.

George Brett
Albert Pujols
Vin Scully (technically not a player, but it's super hard to find his)

If we define most coveted as selling for the most if you happen to pull their 1/1 auto then the answer is Omar Vizquel.

Ugh he doesn't play anymore. Tanaka autos would be wild at first, so I say him.

I asked Hunter about his lack of autographs while he was steaming on Twitch, he said Topps hadn't asked him to sign.

How bout Randy Johnson? His signature is nice and it's only been of late that I've seen some of his autos in Topps product.

I just searched ebay for randy johnson auto and only 99 came up......that includes baseballs and what not.

Thanks for that, I guess they would rather have Gary Brown autos in all their products.

Have to agree with the previously mentioned deadball era players. In terms of modern players, Jeter, Harper, Trout and Ichiro come to mind.

Jeter
Pujols

I'd like a Shoeless Joe Jackson auto, but he was illiterate.
