Default The OFFICIAL Cubs vs. Mets NLCS thread

They said the Cubs couldn't beat the Pirates. Then they said they couldn't beat the Cardinals.

Mets fans: Bring. It. On.

Make your picks here! Also pick the MVP for the series.

Talented youthful pitching (NY) vs. talented youthful hitting (CHI).

As a baseball fan, I'm so happy the Cardinals or Giants are not in the LCS. Nice to see some fresh faces.

Mets have home field advantage. If you thought NLDS Game 3 was loud, get ready for NLCS Game 1.

I said in the ALCS thread: it's cool knowing that either the Royals or Blue Jays will be in the World Series.

I think it's even cooler knowing that either the Mets or Cubs will in the World Series.

I just heard the Cubs are 7-0 against the Mets this year? That is nuts.

Postseason is a whole different ball game though.

I'm gonna be ballsy...

Mets in 5. Addison Russell not being there will sting.

All games came well before the Mets made all of their deals. I'm sure Eric Campell was playing 3rd and John Mayberry Jr. was batting cleanup.

Apparently you haven't heard of Javier Baez. I love me some AddRuss but don't underestimate Javy.

Big power but also a big strikeout bat. And the Mets have strikeout pitchers.

Apparently you haven't Havnt heard that DeGrom, Harvey, syndergaard, and matz are strikeout pitchers and throw 95+. Can't wait to see Baez...

Do you know what the Cubs have done all year while having a healthy amount of strikeouts? That can be said about Bryant as well.

It should be a fun series nonetheless!

He's been a lot better than last year. I believe 3-4 right now, I know not a huge sample size. But a monster 3 run homer last game. Beats some scrub as a replacement.

No, i've definitely heard of them. They're the main reason I wanted to play the Dodgers actually. But Baez shouldn't be taken for a weak link either.

No amount of titles the Mets win would mean more than a title for Cubs fans. It's not like the Cubs are pushovers in pitching either.

His strikeouts say otherwise

Even the strikeout prone can have a big game.

Well I guess this will be the first official argument on this thread. Geeze, didn't think it would happen this quick. All i'm trying to say is there are far worse players that could fill the spot then Baez. I feel good with him at SS or 2nd. KB strikes out like crazy also but can rake and when he does it's huge.

All fastball pitchers against a team full of HOT fastball hitters. This should be a whole lot of fun. As a matter of fact, give me a couple of cups of joe for this.
