I'm not a rookie collector so I don't crack the cup but I LOVE the product. If anyone pulls any Grant Fuhr or Doug Weight hits lmk, I'm buying

The took away one hit per box so lacking 6 possible autographs at a price point of 450 a tin it suddenly does not look as attractive.

I thought about a tin, but decided to pass... I don't have quite enough in my paypal and want to avoid my credit card for now. I'll probably just get a few boxes of 15/16 Series 1 instead.

Its not a hobby. Its a business.

$400 is still too much for a tin to get $130 worth of cards on average..

How many cards sell for $500 + anyway?

This is is the key. Probably less than 1% sell for more than 500. You have to be super lucky and you won't if your luck is anything like mine. Just buy what you are looking for and you will be happier.

Difference is that the cards are for the most part the same, but the market demand has dropped on everything that is not RPA based.
I used to be able to pull 2-3 $500-1500 cards out of every 6 box case for the first years' of the Cup. Obviously that market is way gone.

And as we know, hockey hobby is all about true RCs. Not UD's fault per se but they have to keep up doing something different to generate demand.

From Canada, can confirm. No reason to buy The Cup at that price point.

No there won't...

Only 20 cup cards out 6500 in auction have sold $500+

You can basically get anything for $500...Gretzky patch auto's,
property 1 of 1 sticks, shields, Hertl 3 color /99, yak /99, landeskog, duchane
Tavaras rainbow 3 color rpa, basically 99% of cards

Beside like a couple /99 rpa and a few 1/1 there won't be anything worth $500 + and if you wait a bit those /99 rpa's will be $300 anyway

Carey Price 3 color /99 just went for $1500....malkin does not even get a G.

You can probably pick up every /249 rpa for the price of a case...

UD floods Orr/Gretzky auto's all day and everyone else so yeah it is their fault.
Same set after same set after same player every year...

True Rc's don't sell for crap either except like /99's and even those are relatively cheap....

Its like why buy a case for $3000 to hit a Mac /99 when you can just buy it for $1800

your looking at prices from releases from years ago. Cards sell very well for the first few weeks. Last years Autographed Monumental Booklets sold for some decent money. Your way over inflating the case price also.
How many years have you been opening Cup? RPA's out of 99 for $300, seriously!!

Nah...mostly 13-14...which is even cheaper than older stuff....that's why boxes are under $400...

there are /99 rpa's for a $80...can only imagine what Paul Statsny went for back in the day....

Jordan Staal
Yakopov
Hertl
Schenn
Bobrovsky
Landeskog
Doughty
Kopitar
Jeff skinner
Sean Coutirier Nice 3 color $300
Mark Schieffle

Lets not even talk about the busts /99's

Even Taylor Hall, nice 2 color is only $900

3 color Ovie bgs 9.5 on the most schilled site only fetched $5k...

There are 17 kopitar cards.

Notable nameplates and property 1 of 1 are the bigger ones.

10 of the cards are from 13-14...

Do you have a usable link to the checklist? Cardboard connection doesn't have it and google is no help. I just see another site says UD posted it but no one shared a link with it. All I found was a PDF with no names but 174 pages of card numbers only.
