Default I'm looking to BUY a few '86 fleer packs (graded)....or a sealed box!

Looking to pick up a few 1986 fleer packs. Prefer graded packs....shoot me your price!

Also, would be interested in a sealed box (if the price is right) if it's out there.

Thanks.

Not mine Sal, it's the only one I've seen. Saw it at a show in Boston a few months back.

Is there money to be made if you are spending 35k on a box? How many Jordan's on Avg would you expect?

I think it's 3 per box but I could be wrong. Lots of others are worth a lot if they are psa 10

bbcexchange sold two boxes at the nationals for a reported 35k each. The price is expected to go up as they sold QUICKLY so the next ones they get they'll likely raise the price on. Wish you luck with your search and if you open them be sure to post it here.

I guess I can see that. You make your money back if you can get one Jordan, Moore and Dominique graded psa10

With a set like this it's not just the keys, even the cheapest PSA 10 thanks to the registry is still an expensive card. Not to mention all the other HOFer rookies (Ewing, Barkley, Hakeem, yadda yadda) on top of that. If you get a handful of 10's you might clean up. If you don't, it can hurt.

I just read that a box untampered should contain 3 full sets and a partial 4th. With pwcc just completing a set break of a complete psa10 set totaling a bit over 80 grand, I guess the very top amount you can possibly make is around 400k minus 35k for the box minus grading fees which could be 10k. Does that sound right?

Big if with the general centering issues this set has.

Basically, here's the deal (roughly speaking). You're either buying the box as an investment (or graded packs or what have you) and are going to leave them alone. OR you're going to roll the dice and rip the packs. There were no factory sets, no vending cases, so the only way to pull fresh singles from this set is sealed packs. At this point the vast majority of cards that would grade well, have been graded. So any "new" 10's that are going to exist (or black labels should some ever surface) are likely to come from sealed product and not finding them in a bin at a show.

So let's pretend the cardboard gods smile upon you. You rip a box of 86 Fleer at a cost of 35-40k (ish) and 1 of your Jordans comes back BGS Pristine 10, you're now holding a very pricey card. If a black label 10 ever surfaces it'll be a 7 figure card. Not to mention all the other possibilities of what you could theoretically pull. That's the allure. Now the reality is with the cutting technology at the time and the quality control issues the odds are against you, but some are always willing to take that risk.
