Default Help Needed: Andrew Luck BGS 2012 Panini Black

All,

I got this in a break of Graded Gallery football a couple weeks ago. My guess is that someone submitted it to BGS and asked for a minimum 9.5/10, but didn't receive the grade they requested. My guess is that it is a 8.5 or 9.0.

I am looking to sell this item, but I obviously want to maximize the value of the card. Any feedback on what I should do? Re-Submit to BGS to get the actual grade, or just go ahead and try to sell like this?

Any help would be appreciated.

I would break it out. Buyers will think there is something wrong with the card bc it was only authenticated.

Leave it in there unless you want to be shady..... that has a lot of surface issues and looks like it might get a 7-8 making the best total grade a 7.5-8.5, which will drop its value.

If you crack and resell without disclosing the damage you might make $50 extra but you'll lose out on more than that over time with the reputation of being a shady seller.

Out of curiosity, what is the gain/point of going the "authenticate" route instead of grading on new cards?

Not sure if the back of the card would count for the surface grade, but I can see at least one pretty glaring surface issue in the picture of the back. That might be why it wouldn't grade well.

That may have come from one of those Leaf boxes that have random big hits in it. If it was sent to Beckett by someone and came back Authenticated it would also say ALTERED on it also. You can resend and pay for a grading and they will reslabbed it with the grade it gets. Funny there is a auto grade on the back.
Or the grade could of been low and was requested to be just slabbed??

Don't send it in for grading... the top right on the back, under the serial numbering, looks pretty nicked up and all four corners on the back show white. I would guess it gets an 8.

I'd break it out and just say it was once slabbed "auth". Nothing wrong with that.

with the 4 corners on rear and the damage on right side or rear id leave it alone and take clear pictures of card when selling. If you are honest with the buyer it will be no issue at al

Leave it alone, it's a black bordered and thick card. People fussing over the grades of these RPA's suck.

That is not the type of "condition" where you want it graded. I think the 10 Auto on it makes it a bit more desirable but again, not something I would grade. Leave it in the case!

That blue label is just ugly. It would have to be a very special card to make me want to buy one slabbed like that.

Some people just like to have cards "slabbed" for looks or protection moving forward. My guess is that the person who once had this card knew that it wouldn't grade high and simply wanted it slabbed. People that know this set are aware that anything 8.5 or above is very good for this sensitive set. Personally, I leave it as it is. I think you get similar amount if selling slabbed or unslabbed at this point.

While I agree, I don't think he should crack it before selling it..... sell it as is and let the next buyer do with it what they will.

Leave it slabbed. It is like an extra protection for the card. I rather have that than have it all bent up even more.

Just leave it slabbed and sell it so. Not worth the possible damage for a potential grade

It doesn't even look like it would grade well, so I'd leave it in there.
