I've been seeing some people calling for others to share their bad breaks in here as well as the good lately and I agree. I think this goes for group breaks as well. Here I will share all the cards pulled from this group break at Mojobreak, with pictures of the best hits as well as those that were pulled for me. Sadly, that's not many.
![]() I saw this break posted last week almost immediately. I was too late for the Timberwolves, but got in early enough to grab the Bucks ($125.10) and Lakers ($157.50). Today prior to the break I added the discounted Pistons ($35.10). That's a total of $317.70 for these three teams. I am not going to break down the total number of cards in the product to determine exactly how many hits I should have expected with these three teams specifically. I believe these are above average teams overall, but rounding down to assume they are average let's say I should expect 10% (3/30 team) of the cards in this break, or 4 cards out of 40 per case. Honestly, I was in a bit of a sour mood and had a feeling this break was going to go poorly for me. Still, I thought I could expect at least one cool card with these teams. Let's say my confidence that I would get something cool prior to the break was 99%. Box 1: Adreian Payne RC Auto /20 Latrell Sprewell Auto 01/20 Zoran Dragic RC Auto /49 Dante Exum RC Jsy /99 Recap: Zero hits so far for Lakers, Bucks and Pistons. Confidence that I'll get something cool: 95%. Nothing great had been hit, so I thought the best cards were still to come. Box 2: Dante Exum RC Auto /49 James Ennis RC Auto /99 Glenn Robinson III RC Auto /49 Paul Pierce/Joe Johnson GU /99 Recap: Still zero hits for me. Still zero prime or great hits pulled. Confidence: 85%. Box 3: 900 points Tim Hardaway Jr Auto /5 Dennis Schroder Silhouette /60 Chris Bosh Finals Jsy /99 Recap: Still zero hits for me (expected: 1.2). The high points card is likely replacing a nicer hit (e.g. Kobe, Jabari...). Confidence: 65%. Box 4: P.J. Tucker Auto 1/1 Marcus Smart RC Auto /20 Shabazz Napier RC Silhouette /99 Nik Stauskas RC Jsy /99 Recap: Still zero hits for me (expected: 1.6). A 1/1 pulled. Confidence: 60%. ![]() Box 5: Mychal Thompson Auto /75 Wayne Embry Auto /30 Joe Harris RC Silhouette /99 Deron Williams Prime Patch /25 Recap: One $5 hit for me (expected: 2.0)! Hooray! Also, the first half of the break ended with the first prime card. Still, at this point I was thinking it might not just be me getting boned by this break. Pretty poor overall as well. Confidence: 45%. ![]() ![]() I should note that before Box 6, Mojo switched up who was breaking (pretty common practice for them). So Doug broke the first five boxes, ending on a prime book, and now hands it over to Dan. Something great has to still be lurking in this case, right? For a second, I have hope that Dan is going to change my luck. But then... Box 6: Andrew Wiggins RC Auto /5 Tim Hardaway Jr Auto 20/20 Christian Laettner Auto /30 Thunder Crazy 8s GU /99 Recap: FML. Still just one hit total for me (expected: 2.4). A Wiggins numbered to 5 was just pulled, so pretty unlikely to be any other monsters. Confidence: 20%. ![]() Box 7: Mark Aguirre Auto /20 Mark Price Auto /50 Marcus Smart RC Auto /49 Andrew Wiggins RC Jsy /99 Recap: Another Smart auto. Another Wiggins card. I'm still sitting at one total card (expected: 2.8). Great. Just great. Confidence: 12%. Dan begins Box 8 by saying "I still think we have something big coming out of this." Yeah, okay Dan. Box 8: Ron Harper Auto /75 Mark Jackson Auto /20 Marques Johnson Prime Silhouette /25 Tim Duncan Prime Finals Patch /25 Recap: Okay, Dan was right. Two cool cards, and the Duncan is definitely "something big." Unfortunately, neither of these two cards are for me and they basically mean the best I can hope for is a Randle /49 or something. ![]() ![]() ![]() Box 9: Shabazz Napier RC Auto /20 Jason Terry Auto /25 Jabari Parker RC Prime Silhouette 15/25 James Ennis RC Jsy /99 Recap: Still sitting at just two cards for me (expected: 3.6). And now that that monster Jabari has been... wait a second... BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CONFIDENCE: 100%!!!!!!!!!!!!! ![]() Sorry for misleading you. It takes discipline to post bad breaks, and I do think we should do it more often. I was planning on posting this either way, but it would have been much shorter. Box 10: Aaron Gordon RC Auto /49 Glenn Robinson III RC Auto /20 James Ennis RC Auto /49 DeMarcus Cousins GU /99 Recap: Just two hits for me in this one (expected: 4). The only Lakers hit was a Mychal Thompson Auto /75. And zero Pistons. Crazy. But overall, great case and I'll take what I got!

That hit is great! But man sitting through the first 8 boxes and only hitting the one Thompson I would have been extremely dissappointed

I was in that break and had the suns so I got the 1/1, which made me happy. Congrats on the monster Jabari! That is awesome.

Thanks! And congrats to you as well! Suns were the last team taken, right? Honestly, I strongly considered taking them either instead of or along with the Pistons. They have a lot of hits. Ultimately I just decided the chance at a Grant Hill Silo was the trump and didn't want to throw any more money at the break. I chose wrong, but I'm glad you came out ahead!

I am not going in any more breaks. I "hit" a cole jumbo patch and some other rubbish card in 1x preffered case break and another 6 box break of product including another preferred box. Considering i collect James Ennis it's pointless going in Miami team breaks lol. Would like to say it was fun but it was brutal, still i guess i got something albeit marginally better than nothing. 2 shots no joy but i know when to fold.
Still, you have to be realistic and assume nothing will come out of it and to be fair i was in both breaks for well under $100 so that was my double roll of the dice. Was only trying my luck for a 1/1 so overall i am not gonna complain. People have spent far more for a worse result.

Congrats on the Jabari! I actually watched the recap of that break as I almost bought the magic. Glad I didn't though as they hit maybe one weak card I think. lol.
I've tried my luck at maybe 4-5 preferred breaks since it was released, and did hit a few cards, but probably ended up losing 85-90% of what I spent overall resale wise. That's just the luck of the draw though. You gotta go into these things knowing you'll likely lose out, because most people do unless they're buying half the teams or get really lucky in a random team draw or something like that. I'll still probably continue to join group breaks, but after my bad luck over the past month or two (got killed in spectra breaks too) I'm going to go back to mainly buying boxes or singles. |

Jabari is up on eBay now. Will also accept offers here unless/until it sells. Thanks to everyone for your interest.
