Default Quick money scams :s

i'd throw a disclaimer that i'm vigorously against breaking the law but that'd be a lie. sorry!

When I was 19, I had like $10 to my name and payday wasn't till 10 days.. i was desperate, so I decided to try and fool the bank ATM. it worked. I swiped my card, chose that I wanted to make a deposit. The ATM had those envelopes so you could do it right there. I inserted an empty envelope, chose $200 deposit, and in it went. I then immediately checked my balance, and it showed i had $200 and change available! i was stoked, so I withdrew this phantom $$ and was set.

Oddly enough, even though i was overdrawn, nothing ever came of it.. never got caught lol. I just never went back to that bank & opened a new account w/ a different one.

Anyone have any similar scams they've pulled for profit? doesn't have to be cash. things like this intrigue me, takes some creativity to pull off.

Defrauding a federally insured bank is a crime. You may not have been directly impacted, but for $200 you were most likely reported to ChexSystems for fraud and overdraft. They may have even reported you to collections (which most banks do for amounts over $100) so you may have ruined your credit, too.

But even with all that, way to go starting a thread drawing attention to it and bragging about it.

Yep it's def a crime, I'm more proud of the creative idea more than being happy with the crime, which obv isn't reiterated very well.

Wasn't in good taste? You are an admitted scammer and what does it matter in which forum you posted it? Now we all know, "Ways around the system", AKA "scamming".

Do you think you are the first person who hasn't thought that would work temporarily? The difference is most people aren't stupid enough to actually do it. You aren't nearly as clever as you'd like to think you are.

Some things just shouldn't ever be posted on a open forum.

I'm not even saying I like or dislike what you did. That isn't my place to judge.

Know your audience and don't open yourself up to a stoning like this.

????????????

There is nothing to judge in his statement, it is an admission of guilt.
