Default Houdini doing a contenders break?

Not sure this is the appropriate place to post this. But I got in the chrome one and contenders last year, does anyone know if Houdini is planning a big player auction of 2014 contenders?

Probably just been slammed with his 50 case chrome and 100 case bowman draft.

Saw yours up there, been thinking about jumping in. Just very nervous after dropping 1600 on chrome group breaks and having topps screw everyone

Here are my worries:

1. Well, football. I have not had a very good time running football breaks the last year.

2. Panini Points. I am afraid that they will include points instead of the actual autos listed on the checklist. You know?

Here is last year's 20 caser: http://www.blowoutcards.com/forums/c...-11pm-est.html

I'd like to run another 20 caser, but I am really afraid people will try to hunt me down if there are Panini Points in this.

The points would be my biggest fear as well. Maybe wait a week and see how breaks go with points? It will still easily fill.

Oh... and no checklist. That puts a real damper on a player auction.

I have honestly found the opposite to be true though.

Player collectors and a prospectors usually fill that void right away... plus the more SB tickets and Golds that are pulled the less interest in the break.

I am willing to try it.

This is what Tracy Hackler had to say:

Those look great! Will points replace an autograph?

There will be some points cards and some redemptions of the bigger players that didn’t make it back in time for packout. Having said that, the vast majority of autographs will be live in product.

In group breaks, what do you do with the points cards? Do you put a slot in the group break reserved for points cards?

I would love for this to happen, but it just seems like more of a headache than it's worth for houdini. With the whole points cards coupled with the general dbag/ungrateful nature of all of us (the football crowd in general), it just seems like the perfect poo storm waiting to happen.

Without a list of who will be rewards points, that information is useless for autograph slot bidders.

Therein lies the rub.

I can post a remedy in the OP (hitless auto spots get point cards by random for instance), but nobody who actually ends up with a point card spot will be happy.

According to Hackler, highend names will have redemptions though - so there is that.

Perfect poo storm waiting to happen is a very poetic (and accurate) way to put it I think.

The Chrome was a disaster for many reasons, none the fault of the breaker. Why in the world someone would attempt a break with Contenders I'm not sure. Rewards points, checklist issues and lack of transparency with Panini make it tough. I could see many angry customers.

I wonder if there will even be hitless teams in contenders with the amount of autos.

well if it came to that then the points would be randomed off to everyone in the break.

I agree with cruiser 100%, but I am a collector and like the big breaks with a chance to get some nice cards for my PC guy. I hope the break takes place. just put the points spot up for auction and let the people decide what its worth. points suck and I hate panini for doing it, I honestly would rather have a redemtion of my fav player then have a points card , but I understand it makes panini more money and is easier for them, sucks but it is a business

I think the biggest question is there enough money to be made to offset the massive amount of bs that houdini will have to deal with? I know when my job calls me to work, I sure in the hell will not work for 17cents an hour, I make 35$ an hour no less, and I get overtime.
