Default Brandon's IP/TTM Successes

Have been into the hobby of getting autographs in the past and kindof got away from it.. However, I've recently had the urge to really get back into it so I thought I'd start a thread to track my journey. I've recently sent out about 30+ and counting TTM requests so hopefully I'll have the ball rolling soon!

Today I went to meet Johnny Bench and George Foster at a signing in Indianapolis.. Great guys! What a fun time! I had never met any of the Big Red Machine so I think after this, I'm going to try to eventually meet all 8 starters.

Personalized To Brandon, Best Wishes, and WS Champs '75, '76

Montrezl Harrell photo.. probably a lottery pick next year I think he's got the makings of a superstar

Wayne Blackshear photo

Terry Rozier (another future draft pick) and Harrell dual auto ball

And one of the better IP autos I've ever gotten.. Montrezl Harrell personalized, inscribed 2013 National Champs jersey!

Thanks! It was pretty awesome to meet him IP. Seemed like a really nice guy. I asked him about the story of a pitcher kept shaking him off on a curveball signal so he finally gave the fastball signal and caught it bare handed to prove a point. He said it was true, and he wasn't very smart at the time lol

TTM Success: Wade Boggs, 2/2 in 14 days. Signed ROMLB ball and 4x6 3000th hit card, both inscribed HOF 05. Seems like a great guy, very generous signer from what I can tell.

You're new here, but I like the stuff you're bringing to the table. Keep it up. It looks great.

Thanks I appreciate it! Will do! I am just now getting back into the hobby of getting IP and TTM.. I was into collecting like pack inserted auto cards for a couple years and I started to realize I didn't really have any personal attachment to any of it and that TTM or especially IP autos are more meaningful, for me at least.

The Bench and Foster stuff is great. I need to send to Boggs soon, too.

Congrats, and welcome back to the hobby.

They are ROLB1. I usually do HOF/absolute favorite players on official MLB game balls and others on ROLB1 to help keep expenses down. From what I can tell those are safe, I wouldn't go for anything any cheaper though, everything I've saw on a CROLB fades pretty badly

Congrats on your progress with the great eight balls, I'm one away (Morgan) from finishing off my BRM photo so I know how exciting it is to check another guy off the list.

That said I'd be really careful using those ROLBs, they're also prone to fading... they'll do in a pinch but if you're going to a paid signing like Griffey and Concepcion you're much better off spending the extra money to get ROMLBs, as they'll hold up much better over time.

Gotcha, thanks. I know there are different ones, ROLB1, ROLB2, ROLB3.. I've always been told the ROLB1 (the best quality of the 3) are pretty safe which is what I've used. They are genuine leather, not the synthetic stuff like the other types. But I'll definitely keep that in mind because I would sure rather have a nice collection years down the road as opposed to being disappointed I tried to be too cheap when I first got them lol.

Did you know Rose and Morgan are signing next Saturday at Moeller HS? I will be there!

I wholeheartedly agree with nmculbreth, when spending the $85 it cost for those autos, I definitely would get it on a ROMLB - just my opinion.

See you at Moeller.

Thanks! I was really excited that he personalized it and added the inscription I asked for. I always make a note in my letter "you can personalize it To Brandon, if you wish" because I want to let them know I am a real collector and not someone looking to sell and most come back not personalized so it's cool to get one sometimes!

Exactly!! It's been about 7 or 8 years since I last sent out a TTM request so I guess I felt a need to send out a lot of stuff in a short period of time so I could see some solid successes!

Thanks for the comment!
