Duncan has had the better career (his teams were always a lock for 50 wins), but Kobe is the better player.

Duncan, cause he didn't have to force himself on anyone to achieve star status.

Their career achievements are very similar:
Kobe Duncan
Championship: 5 5
Finals MVP: 2 3
MVP: 1 2
AS: 16 14 (Kobe's AS selection for this year shouldn't count. lol.)
AS MVP: 4 1
All NBA Team: 15 (11) 14 (10) - () is 1st team
All Def Team: 12 (9) 14 (8)

Kobe - Lakers all time leading scorer. Duncan - Spurs all time leading scorer.

I can't pick. Leaning towards Kobe for a little since he is more flamboyant.

Duncan, players want to play with him, Kobe players want to get away from him lol

Finals MVP 3 vs 2, without a doubt Duncan.

Duncan was the number one guy on 4 of the 5 championship teams, Kobe only was on 2.

Duncan all the way

With the numbers so close, I think Duncan has had the better career in terms being a better teammate and plays a tougher position than Kobe...to maintain his longevity with the constant banging and physical play inside is amazing especially on a seven foot frame. I just think Duncan is very professional and has never been a boat rocker or pot stirrer...just a great rock for the organization. The Spurs have never been up and down based on free agents and personnel changes, just a constant, classy force...a reflection of their leader. You can tell the type of leadership the team has by listening to the young players...Lebron said "I" or "me" ten times more than the Spurs team combined!

I'm going with Duncan. They have had very similar careers award wise. Duncan to me seems like a guy who brings a team together where as Kobe seems to be like whatever or even pulling a team apart.

If it's a game 7, I'm taking Kobe. If it's over the long haul of a series, I'll take Duncan. I don't feel Duncan can win a game on his own, even though he is a well rounded player. Kobe can take over a game 7 and win it on his own.

But both had amazing careers and it was fun to watch.

Duncan. Consistency. Never really injured like Kobe.

17 seasons, 17 Playoff appearances.

Also, they aren't done yet. Kobe will be back and Duncan I say for at least another year, hoping for at least 2 more. That will depend on what the Spurs do next year probably.

A little bias to ask right after Tim Duncan wins the championship and kobe with probably the worst season in his career

Tim just have a better coach that will rest him 50% of the game and treat Tim like family.

It's close, both are spectacular and likely top 10 all time. I say Duncan by a hair. He's just steady and while his highs haven't been as brilliant as Kobe's there something to be said about his consistency. He is a steadying force for that franchise and is a class act all the way. I true great. I put him just a hair above Kobe.

As far as modern big men (2000's)he's right behind shaq.

I think if Kobe was the main guy for 2 of those first 3 NBA championships this poll results would be different, but Duncan was the main guy for about 4 of his championships, Big Fundamental for the win!
