Default Trade Help

Has anyone encountered this before? How do I handle it?

I traded with a guy...I sent his card out a week and a half ago..he said he did the same. He received his card 2 days after I sent it. I never got anything and he doesn't respond to me with tracking or anything. How long til I should report it or leave a bad feedback on iTrader. I've messaged him a ton and he never responds.

In all likelihood, he isn't intentionally trying to rip you off...he just doesn't have the common decency to send your cards in a timely manner. Unfortunately, it happens often.

In most instances I'd agree with this, but saying he shipped them the same day OP shipped his and the fact that he's ignoring PMs is fishy to me.

Please post the member's name.

If he is ignoring you, he may be trying to stall so that he can rip off more people...

Or maybe it is nothing.

He emailed me back right away last night. He actually mailed the package on the 1st, which is why I didn't get it until today. He was away on business, which is why he wasn't contacting me back.

I have heard stories of people getting a card and not responding which is why I asked, but this guy was good...just a miscommunication. I got everything I was supposed to in the trade. Could you please reinstate him? Thank you and I apologize.

what was the timeline on the deal?

what exact day did you two agree to ship?

did the member tell you he was on a business trip before you made the deal? IF so, why would he agree to ship on a day he's not home and able to do so?

He said he shipped march 28th as I did. I emailed the tracking number and asked for his. He said he left it at work. The next I heard from him was this past thursday when he just asked if I received anything and didnt respond to the tracking question at all. He then didnt respond again for another 4 days. He never mentioned a work trip or anything.

well i know business trips can sometimes appear out of nowhere, but not handling your obligations here before leaving town is a little annoying.

in the grand scheme of things, it was a 4-5 day delay which isn't horrible, but the lack of communication paired with the delay in shipping would be maddening to me.

Unexpected business trips can be a legitimate excuse for not shipping, but anyone who says they weren't able to contact via PM or e-mail because of said trip is lying.

not necessarily. I do not have (nor do I want one) a "smart" phone. if I go somewhere and I do not have my computer with me, or internet access, I will not get emails for days. when I go on vacation, I may only look at my computer once or twice a week.

I agree they might not be "lying"

But it is still no excuse if you have an in process deal. If you don't have a smart phone for some reason than other appropriate measures need to be taken.

The key term here is 'business trip'. I agree on vacation, I purposely go off the grid. No one goes on a business trip with no communication devices. Doesn't happen.

Regardless of the reason, you don't leave someone hanging in the middle of a deal. You can make an effort to send a brief e-mail that explains the situation.

not in all instances....some people still don't have smart phones or laptops...I know I never use email when im away on business trips. I always figured if someone needed to contact me they would call and if they don't have my number there is a reason for that
