So I was given tickets to see Moe Harkless when the magic come to play the nets on Tuesday.
He told me kinda last minute so there is no chance I can get an authentic jersey in time (although he said he may be able to give me his) I was wondering what else is a good thing to get signed? I think a photo is kinda boring, I could do a basketball I guess but if anyone knows what pen to use that would help) Any thoughts and opinions would be appreciated. (Side note, I really jut want to meet victor. Lol)

your ticket stub? It'll help u remember the date and game u got him to sign. And its not like his autos (no offense) will fetch too much money later, so i think ticket stub would be good to just keep for memory.

Ticket stub is a good idea though.

I think the floorboard is a great idea for personal use, then you can put photos or cards around it.
Since he's not an all-star caliber popular player, if he's amongst your favorites, get a photo with him too and display it with the item you get signed. If you're looking at this from an investment potential and resale opportunity, then getting a jersey, ball or any expensive item you have to buy is probably a waste of money, and just going cheap on anything not flat (since cards and photos are a dime a dozen) like a mini-ball, or a toy backboard or some team swag. |

I worked at St. John's while he was there for a season. I got to know him there since I worked in athletic operations.
This isn't for re-sale value or anything, just a memory of the only NBA player I personally know.

A blank check.
No, seriously though, I used to go to Knicks training camp and get them to sign either cards or the pre-season game program. I loved picking a nice-looking card for them to sign. Last edited by Giantrobot; 01-19-2014 at 07:29 PM. |

I like to get hats and sneakers signed. Something I've seen other autograph collectors do is bring a nice camera and take photos with the players. Then they get the photos signed the next time the team visits.
Victor is a really cool guy. He's the only opposing player I've seen this year sign autographs after a game against the Clippers before heading back to the locker room. |

Anyone have pen recommendations for the boldest auto on an indoor/outdoor ball?

thick silver deco, no question. not always the easiest to find, but that's what you want.

Medium tip Silver Deco Paint Pen is by far the best to sign a ball with. Just make sure you give it some time to dry because it takes a little bit of time. In addition you have to prep the pen ahead of time (I generally just start making marks on a piece of spare cardboard or piece of paper). It sucks when you hand them the paint pen and it won't sign (I've had this happen even with preparation )Jerseys are also cool but take up space to display much like balls. Photos might not be as cool but they do store easily and don't eat up a lot of space. At the end of the day though it is about what you find cool and would be happy to have as a keepsake.

You can buy a nice indoor/outdoor NBA Ball at Wal-Mart for $15, get it signed in either a Super Thick Black Sharpie or go to one of the united teacher stores and buy a PrismaColor Silver Paint Pen... The PrismaColor pens don't usually have issues with exploding like the Deco Colors do and they are just as bold.

Went with the official indoor/outdoor ball and the paint pen. Let's hope for the best
