Gangster Rap in general. Rap was so much fun and acerbic in the 80s (Sugarhill Gang) now it seems to be crap.

Techno. I just don't get it.

The last 5 years of "rap" which isn't rap - but Flo Rida rapping over some ridiculous techno soundtrack.

I don't listen to as much rap as I did when I was in High School - and it doesn't have to be hardcore stuff - but at least stuff with decent lyrics that made sense.

I went to a Macklemore concert a few weeks ago - and he was actually pretty good - but I really went to see Talib Kweli - and no one in the stands even knew who he was.

Give me Dre, Snoop (the good version), 2Pac, The Roots, Kweli, Mos Def, Black Sheep, Cypress Hill over Flo Rida, Drake, and 2 Chainz or whatever.

Your rebellion is not a later generation's rebellion. I loved gangster rap and the mid-80s rap I grew up on, but thought Sugarhill was cheesy as hell.

Those are a couple of idiots who smoked too much weed and thought themselves insightful.

If I'm in the right mood, I don't mind some of it. It's good when you are feeling pissed off or writing code.

Agreed. I understand the appeal, but it has zero appeal to me. If the vocals were gone, I probably wouldn't mind it.

As for what music I "don't get"--here you go:

most of the "artists" I see getting arrested on a daily basis via tmz, and miley and bieber and most of what I hear on the radio.

my mp3 player has not been updated with anything newer than 2009! (plus it's only 2gbs)

most of my last buys have been via amazon: Rise against cd/digital, warped tour 2011 cd, volbeat 2 songs digital, rancid cd, five finger death punch digital, papa roach digital
