Default 2009-10 Box Break Suggestions

I have not opened a basketball product since 03-04. I got heavy into football cards and would like to get a couple boxes of basketball. I think Panini has done some nice stuff. I am trying to decide between Rookies and Stars, Limited, and possibly UD SP Game Used? Has anyone heard anything on SP Game USed? Also thinking Certified Pre-Sell. Please let me know what you would suggest. Thank you!

09/10 Topps Basketball was THE BEST basketball product that I've opened recently. But the HTA boxes are getting super scarce. I'd go w/ R&S. For the price you get a lot of cards and have just a good a chance at something nice as Limited. Remember, Limited you get just a few cards total. Get your feet wet w/ a box or 2 then decide if you want more early release stuff, or if you want to get more adventurous w/ some of the products that are currently pre-sell. Have fun and good luck.

Ditto. 09-10 Topps Jumbo HTA is fantastic but increasingly rare and the price has increased because of it. Rookie and Stars is a solid product, loaded with some nice patch cards and rookie autos. Bowman 48 has 3 autographs a box and is decent too.

I just got back into cards about a month or two ago and busted all three products you're looking at.

For all the Panini stuff I opened, limited, R&S, elite and threads, the basic structure is 4 autos / game used per box. The difference with limited is that you don't get all the commons, but the prices are actually all about the same.

I liked the R&S auto rookies best out of all the Panini products. Although not player-worn/game used, the presentation is nice with the team logo. The letterman rookies from threads are okay, but kind of bland in my opinion. The eilte rookies look like all previous elite products in the last 10 years: shiny borders with a blue auto. I thought the limited rookie auto jerseys were nice, but the jerseys were too small.

I opened a couple of boxes of upper deck game used and I liked the product for the variety and number of hits. I got at least two patches in each box and a ton of autos. It's fun to open, but the player selection is kind of bad. Too many marginal 08-09 rookies who may or may not still be in the league.

Out of everything I opened, I actually liked Bowman 48 the best. At least, I recognized all the names of the autos I got. It's the cheapest too.

It's been a fun couple of months getting back into busting, but I got quickly reminded how quickly money burns in this hobby.
