I've seen a few different threads related to building frames and comic boxes or other storage shelves, so it thought it would be good to start a thread for all the woodworkers out there looking for some weekend project inspiration.
Feel free to introduce yourself, show off your work, ask some questions, or share a few links about projects or info. Not a woodworker? This may be a good place to connect with a woodworker in your area to hire for a custom piece. |

I just graduated with a BFA in Furniture Design and minor in Bookmaking. Im fairly new to buying and collecting comics, but not to reading.
For my first project I'm looking to upgrade my storage boxes. I hate keeping a collection that I spend the time boarding and bagging in a cardboard box. Most of my concentration is going to be on surface design, I'm planning on incorporating a lot of the parquetry I worked on in school. I'm interested in how other people display their comics. J. Meister, I love that led lit frame. I haven't been able to find one flat enough to fit behind the frame that changes colors, any place online to get some good ones? I do have a couple with the regular light sockets that have a remote control, I'm thinking about taking them apart and reworking their components to be run by a tiny arduino board. |
