I would say 90% of my online buys are from Midtown and TFAW, about 8% from Graham Crackers, and then 2% elsewhere that might have some books that are sold out on the other three mentioned. Very happy with all three of those sites.

finding a good comic retailer is like finding a good bank. i also do most of my online purchases from Midtown and tfaw. TFAW probably has the edge for me right now. Midtown really needs fix how they package their comics. too many coming in damaged lately.

I have bought from tfaw twice and their shipping/packing sucks IMO. Midtown atleast do a good job at "trying" to ship you comics without arriving damaged. Sure i get damaged comics from them as well. They are flimsy paper books they will come damaged sometimes. I guess we all have different experiences

I generally buy at least eight books at a time from Midtown so that they ship in a box well protected rather than in one of those flimsy carboard mailers, plus if you get to $75 you get free shipping. My percentages of 9.8 quality books from Midtown and TFAW is very solid. I feel like Graham Crackers packaging and condition is a little lower, but as mentioned, they tend to have lower prices on the Variants.

I usually order from dreamland or tfaw because of the inexpensive shipping, functioning websites, and coupons/discounts.
I don't care for midtown, mycomicshop, or graham crackers. |

Thanks for the help, guys. I may be placing an order with Midtown. Kind of got bent with them when I got screwed over on the iPhone App discount a while back, but it seems they've got a good rep and it looks like they have what I'm looking for pretty cheap.
I want to pick up some blank sketch covers to work on to bring to Wizard World Philly. Never done a blank cover before, a few people have asked me about doing them. This should be an interesting test. I have some old Secret Invasion blanks, but from what I understand those covers were not very friendly to art supplies. And with that I've successfully derailed my own thread.

TFAW is good but ships very slow.
Midtown I have never had a problem with. Mycomicshop ships very well. Comics are very well protected, just be carefull getting them out of the package because they use allot of tape. Dreamland I have never had a problem with either |

A word of advice about covers -- the DC ones are getting rave reviews from artists and inkers, as do most of the older Marvel ones (not Secret Invasion, however). The Marvel Now covers don't do well with inks and it takes awhile for it to set on there.
My suggestion would be DC covers and some of the older Marvel covers (Avengers, Wolverines, X-Men, etc). Just my two cents. |

Something somewhat disturbing - I just received another order from Midtown, and a lot of the packing materials they used were crumbled up pick tickets from other orders. So I've got the names, addresses and phone numbers for about a dozen people.

My favorite as far as packaging goes is MyComicShop.com - Stellar packaging and super secure IMHO.
For the most part, I quit using TFAW as they are too far away from me and it was taking 10-15 days after release date to get my books, although never had shipping damage from them. I do most of my preview ordering through Midtown as they have good prices, and shipping is somewhat fast to Indy from NYC. I do also occasionally order from Dreamland and Graham Crackers, but Dreamland has pulled the 'We don't have enough in stock of that super hot book you pre-ordered' bit on me.
