Yeah they said he shed like 30 lbs. He has had some issues with knee/leg the past few years. The weight loss must be helping.

He had major problems with his knees that he was able to rest throughout this season because TP stepped up!

im so glad someone knows the answer to this cause it has been bugging the hell out of me...i caught a game during the Jazz series and was kinda shocked at how they just man handled them with such ease...it was impressive.

I hope he continues to play well and wins another championship. He is proving that the basic fundamental of the game is winning over all the overated super athletic players in the current era.
So those of you who think that today super athletic players can beat any fundamental big men in the past. Think again because Duncan is proving you wrong.

He still has bad knees but like others have said, the weight loss has helped tremendously. He also was dealing with plantar fasciitis the last few years but hasn't had a problem with it this year. From what I understand, it id very painful.

Duncan is a BEAST!

His Godmother cooked my wife and myself some conch when we were in St. Croix a few years back. She busted out all of his High School pictures and everything. It was a great experience to hear some stories and see pictures of Tim that you just won't hear anywhere else. She was the nicest lady I think I've ever met.

Yes he may be listed as a F and gone to AS games as an F but he is and always has been a C.

He doesn't get the hobby "love" because he just goes out there and gives you 19 & 11 every game. He is not flashy, loud or looking to be in the limelite.

He is a great player and I want to see wim win amother championship.

Also playing 25-30 mins a game instead of 35-40 helps his legs.

Same thing with KG, its health, talent around them, being energized with seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.

It is good for the NBA that Duncan and KG are still going strong after looking beyond cooked in the past

it still doesn't cloud my judgement on speaking the truth about this series though. the lakers showed the blueprint to slow down okc and beat them. the lakers played like the better team for 3 out of the 5 games, they just couldn't close out the final minutes of two of them. the spurs won't have the problem executing that the lakers did. i expect them to handle okc easily.

Or, said differently, the Thunder played down to the Lakers level 3 out of the 5 games, and completely destoyed them the other 2.

Spurs/Thunder will be the best Playoff matchup we see this year, with the Thunder taking it in 6.

nah, not even close. lakers played great defense for most of the series. of course everyone knew that no one but kobe was showing up to last nights game, so i hesitate to even call game 5 a real game. the lakers showed by playing smart and going inside you neutralize okc's ability to get long rebounds and start fast breaks, take away the wings ability to leak out and run out in quick transition. parker's ability to penetrate and kick, and duncans post game will allow them to control the pace all series like the lakers almost did.

i had no illusion that the lakers were going to win this series, but they surprised me. they easily could have if not for some terrible terrible decision making down the stretch in games 2 and 4.

if you want to make a wager on this series let me know, i'll take spurs against anyone that wants okc.

This! Pop was a master this regular season. I imagine it would suck to be a ticket buyer and find out that Duncan didn't even make the trip but playing less minutes has to be a huge part of it.

Along with what everyone has mentioned- the development of Tiago Splitter has played a part in Duncan's improved performance. He is the first quality big man Duncan has had since the Admiral retired.

Amen..I had this argument in another thread awhile back. Duncan and the Spurs are the most fundamental, disciplined team in the NBA. Love seeing how they show the younger more athletic, one one one style players, what TEAM basketball is all about..

If he is a center, he is probably not high up on the greatest of all time list, but as a PF he is probably ranked 1 or 2.
