At the 00:52 mark, I am pretty sure that insert set is the same name as the PANINI Basketball product.. LOL

And, I don't think he mentioned "golden" enough in the video.

Solid gold cards and an insert set named "Gold Standard," hmmm.... Where have I seen that before? All this coming from the company taking jabs at Panini for "going on vacation." Not a Panini fan at all, but seriously Topps?

Hah, laughable. Series 1/2/update are a joke.

On a side note:
If anyone remembers a thread I had started and it stated that topps is ruining this hobby. Here ya go. Now go out there and redeem your codes for digital golden coins! And the gold standard/gold cards are totally Ripping off panini to boot. What is with you topps?

For the high-end hobbyists, maybe....but the for the little kids who are the future of the hobby the entry-level set is typically their only outlet. For the majority of them this stuff doesn't matter...they just want shiny pictures of their heroes. My 8 year old could care less if they "stole" something from Panini.

What is funny is that Base Topps is their best selling product. There are legions of collectors who build the set year in and year out.Alot of us starting collecting when all that was produced was a base Topps set.

I couldn't agree more. I'm an adult (most of the time) and I enjoy opening packs of Topps Series 1 & 2. It's all in your preference!!
