Default Will Anderson: Multiple Signers On His Cards?

Texans fan here. I collect and I've been looking into Will Anderson autographs. I have a signed helmet direct from Fanatics and also have one card. However, in looking for others, I'm not so sure he's signing all his cards.

There's no way these are coming from the same hand, right?

It's conceivable that it's the same person.

I'm open to listening, but I feel like between the differences in messy vs. unusually clean, different sizing, and different numbers, it's also conceivable that it's not the same person.

Sign your name thousand times over a few hours and beers, and see the difference between signature 1 and 2500 looks like

Sign your name a couple hundred times with no beers and they will look different! There are similarities and difference in all three, so it's hard to tell. The different pen in the second example (and in the one a couple of posts up) also affects that as well.

I have been collecting him since he came out. I have about 20 autos, that is not good. IMO, he is a future HOFer and will start to get more pub soon. He is ranked 9 in PFF for edge rushers against the run and getting better every year.

In my opinion, the signers of cards # 1 and # 2 are not the same.

Signatures can vary minute to minute - even signing letters at work, there are subtle variations that occur to my signature.

But one hallmark of multiple signers is the way the characters are constructed.

Look at autograph # 1. The hashmark's horizontal lines are written with the pen touching the left side of the card first, then moving to the right, as evidenced by them being "fat" on the left side, and thinning as you move right.

Now look at autograph # 2. The hashmark's horizontal lines are written the opposite - with the pen touching the right side of the card first, then moving left, as evidenced by the lines being "fat" on the right hand side, and thinning as you move to the left.

Even accounting for differing signatures as you sign hundreds if not thousands of cards, the odds that the same person would use two different patterns to make a number sign is highly unlikely.

Therefore, my belief is that card # 1 and card # 2 were signed by different people.

Who cares?

They are not even autographs, they are Sharpie scribbles.

This is a good post.
This is a good thread.
The differing signatures are definitely something I noticed and are the reason why I haven’t bought any of his autographs. It stinks for sure but I do firmly believe it’s not him signing, at least not all of them, and I don’t want to guess which is really his.

The Flawless is his auto. All of these helmets were signed in person, witnessed and came from his exclusive signing with Fanatics

Yes, your auto can change when you sign it hundreds of times. Like the Red helmet below. But it doesn't change completely like these other two cards above have.

The upsweep of the five (top line) matches 2 of the 3 cards. That one the 5 gives it away, not signed by him. Look at the five on the helmet and cards, see that upsweep of the top line of the five, they are consistent.

I see the center one and think he was sitting at the coffee table watching a game, took a stack of 5-10, slid them out like a deck of cards just enough to see the bottom of each card and signed them that way.

Seems to me that they probably are all the same person. Of course, I had my real estate agent laughing when my wife and I were signing papers for our new house because my signature at the end of the process looked nothing like the my sig at the end of the process.
