Default Grading Question: Wembanyma Auto What Would You Do?

Curious people's thoughts on this.

I purchased a 2023 Topps Chrome Wembanyama Auto, still sealed from Topps. I sent it to BGS to be graded, and it came back a true gem plus with two 10s sub grades. As of grading, it is the highest-graded BGS copy of this card.

Here is my question: with it being .5 from a 10, would you just leave it as is, or since it should be a strong PSA 10 crossover case, send it to PSA because of the increased value of a PSA 10 over a BGS 9.5?

My initial thought is to keep it as is. A PSA cross-over would cost a decent chunk based on their prices, and with shipping and insurance, would it really add that much more value? Plus, there is always the chance that one day I could maybe have it looked at to possibly get a bump in BGS (not cracking it out of course either way)

Just curious people's thoughts...

I would just keep it in the BGS holder.

Won’t be cheap to crossover at that price level. With 2 10s would have a solid chance at psa 10 .

Leave it. I love BGS slabs and you run the risk PSA screw you over

I would cross (or at least crack it out depending how risky you are). The BGS auto grade looks to be a 9 or less, which is an eye-sore to many (me included). A BGS 9.5 with no auto grade is bad. A PSA 10 with no auto grade is a-ok and accepted.

A PSA 10 with no auto grade would make the card more desirable overall.

Good luck!

Cross it

“I like the BGS case better” is 20 years ago

If you want to maximize the value? Whether sell, hold for a while, oe whatever… it’s PSA

Anyone saying keep it is just being short sighted because they don’t like PSA

But it’s 2026 tomorrow. Everything might as well be PSA at this point

Everything basically is PSA anyway with them owning everyone.
