Default How many surefire future Hall of Famers are currently playing for your favorite team?

As the title states, what players on your favorite team do you think are a lock for the HOF if they retired right now? None of the "If he keeps it up for 3 more years" talk.

My favorite team is the 49ers. If they retired right now, I believe Trent Williams, Fred Warner, and George Kittle are HOF locks. CMC has just been too injured for me to include him.

Had a fun conversation with a few friends about this and got some surprising names so I thought this would make for a fun thread.

Buccaneers fan here.

Zero.

Some Hall of Very Good, but Hall of Fame? Nah, that's only for elite players with multiple All-Pros to their name

Myles Garrett
Joel Bitonio... Hopefully

Bitonio might not be "surefire" especially since he's a Guard and not a Tackle... but his resume is pretty impressive - and obviously no one actually looks at it

2X 1st Team AP
3X 2nd Team AP
7X Pro Bowl

5X All Pro, with 2 first teams, is pretty damn good

He might need another year or two, and there is certainly the chance he retires, but I think he deserves to be in

LaVonte David and Mike Evans both arguably get in, not surefire locks but I think both deserve to be in.

Harrison Smith should.

Justin Jefferson could if the other JJ can quite throwing 110 mph.

For the Packers right now, I'd say maybe one, Parsons. Besides that? I can't think of anyone who will sniff the Packers HoF right now, let alone the NFL HoF.

Giants

Zero. The only two with an outside chance would be

LT Andrew Thomas would need to stay healthy and add 3-4 more all pros to even be considered.

DT Dexter Lawrence had a great peak but not enough to warrant HOF consideration. Maybe if he gets healthy again but his age will be a factor.

I don’t know what RJing is and I don’t think I want to know…

Plays the wrong position. He will make it but it will take a while

Definitely not “surefire”

Reverse-jinxing.

Ahh yes, he likely is not "surefire."

Philip Rivers will be in Canton someday.
Quenton Nelson is a lock at this point.

David is never going to get into Canton without a ticket.
Evans should get in but might not be first ballot.

Lavonte David will get the Bucs Ring of Honor and maybe his #54 jersey retired by the team but that's it

Mike Evans is not getting into the hall with 0 All-Pros

Mike Evans racks up yards by pushing off defenders, is too injury-prone, and only got his Super Bowl ring thanks to Tom Brady. In that game, he managed just 31 yards, was targeted only once, and had zero touchdowns, with the Chiefs shutting him down completely. Elite players would have found the end zone at least once in the Super Bowl.

Meanwhile, Davante Adams, from the same draft class, boasts three All-Pro selections and is a two-time NFL receiving touchdowns leader.

For me, Adams is an obvious Hall of Fame lock, unlike Evans.

C'mon, man. Plenty of Hall of Famers who made Super Bowls never reached the end zone. Plenty. Tim Brown is a perfect example. Consistent, but not dominant, no first-team All-Pros at WR, didn't score a TD in his only SB appearance, he's in Canton. Evans' numbers are pretty close to Brown's and Evans might have a year or two left to get to the 14,000-yard threshold like Brown did.

How many players have 11 consecutive 1,000-yard seasons? 13,000+ receiving yards and over 100 touchdowns and he might still have a year or two left to pad with. It might take a few ballots, but I do think he gets in eventually.

I think CMC will make the HOF, and pretty easily at that. He's going to finish this season with over 13,000 Yards from Scrimmage (YFS), likely leaving him in 53rd place.

But 10th place in YFS is Curtis Martin @ 17,430......that's about two more healthy season for CMC, who averages about 2000 YFS in a healthy season. Add in a third healthy season, and he's probably in 5th place overall, behind Jerry Rice, Emmitt Smith, Walter Payton, and Frank Gore.

That definitely gets him into the HOF. And given that he doesn't turn 30 until the coming offseason, I've got to think he's got the equivalent of three more healthy seasons in him (i.e. 50 more starts).

So, CMC from the Niners, if he keeps it up for 3 more years.

For the Rams, Matthew Stafford and probably Davante.

Walter Payton Super Bowl Stats:
22 carries for 61 yards and one fumble

Sure fire? Trent Williams.

Real, real close? Warner, Kittle.

Have some work to do but in the hunt: CMC, Bosa (if he can avoid the injury bug and get to 100 sacks.
