Default Recommendations for a Mike Schmidt Auto

I have not collected baseball cards in 30 years, and currently only collect football, but I want to start picking up autos of my favorite childhood players and first on the list is Mike Schmidt.
Can anyone recommend an auto (preferably on card but not locked in)that shows him on the same card both at bat and in the field?

Thanks

I don't think that there are any cards that show him both at bat and in the field.....that would be two different cards with two different images.

I'd recommend his 2022 Topps Heritage auto....it's the 1973 design, his rookie year.

Thanks for that. I can’t decide what I want more him in the field or at bat which is why I had hoped to find one with both

There is an 1990 UD card that has both. It’s named Schmidt Retires.

Buy one of each. He’s had autos in literally nearly every product for years so they’re not terribly expensive.

I’d personally go with the 1999 Upper Deck Century Legends Epic Signatures. He’s not hitting or fielding in the photo but it’s one of the most iconic autograph sets ever made.

The answer is any Schmidt Auto is a great card. At bat, in the field, or just standing there looking awesome…

The one you like is always the best answer.

Here's one place to see Schmidt autos >> https://www.comc.com/Cards,so,=mike+schmidt,_AUTO,i100

I really don't think there are a ton of options showing him batting and fielding on the same card with an auto. He's not really a super-plentiful signer these days, either.

Just this year alone he’s in Archives Signature Series, Flagship, Chrome, Chrome Black, Heritage, Allen & Ginter, Diamond Icons, Finest, Sterling, Tier One, Tribute, etc…

Here’s mine. It’s a fun way to have a certified auto on his “rookie card”. Picked this up dirt cheap pre-Covid too.

Very cool. Can't tell from the pic, but what grades did you go with?

Once upon a time it was all tens (minus 73, 75, and 76 which were 9’s).

Now, 73-79 are a mixed bag with tens from 80-89.

2021 Tribute has what you are looking for. This one is on eBay for $150. They have best offer as well, so maybe you can get it a bit cheaper.

There really doesn't seem to be a go-to Schmidt auto card. I remember trying to find one to buy and couldn't settle on one, so I just bought a dual Schmidt-Carlton auto:

And if they don't budge just buy the /10 Red version for twenty bucks more.

if there are mike schmidt super collectors lingering in the forum, shoot me a DM, I have inherited some things (not just sports cards) that may be of interest to those super collectors.
