Default Merry Christmas 2025

Hope all of you have a great holiday. Good food, friends, family and football. I’m doing prime rib with Mac n cheese, mashed taters and asparagus. It’s already brining in fridge. Only able to do for 30 hours though.

What will you be eating for Christmas dinner?

Looking forward to a relaxing Christmas. We’ll do prime ribeyes on the wood stove, green beans, mashed potatoes, homemade dinner rolls, apple pie and pumpkin pie.

We go out to dinner on X-Mas eve and have a tradition of tipping the waiter/waitress $500, which is always pretty fun.

That’s a fantastic tradition
Giving to charity is very admirable and I try to when I can to worthwhile causes.

A $500 tip is short term life changing for people (like servers) who are grinding through the season.

I've heard more "Merry Christmas" wishes this year then I've heard in a long time. Wonderful!

Mother-in-law makes her homemade spaghetti on Christmas Eve. Christmas Day brunch/lunch classics... turkey... Maryland stuffed ham... etc.

Merry Christmas!

Christmas (for various reasons) hits different this year. It's gonna suck. There's no avoiding it.

Gonna try to 'enjoy' it regardless.

No big meal. Plus, it's raining cats and dogs outside, and I'm not really looking to travel anywhere. Already had a family get together last Sunday.

Subway sandwich, some baked Lays, and a Coke Zero today

I may (or may not) stay in and order a small pizza tomorrow, haven't decided yet. Although, I'm thinking not, since I've made considerable progress on this diet I've been on since October

We had lasagna tonight with two of my SDs, one SIL, our granddaughter, and MIL.

Tomorrow is turkey and a roast with all of the side dishes for possibly the other SD and MIL.

Like The Ramones once sang, 'Merry Christmas I Don't Want To Fight Tonight'.
Drinking some non boozed up eggnog and checking when my packages from Germany will arrive from DHL and Fedex. My Christmas presents to myself will not arrive until the 26th or 27th.

We get together on Christmas Eve. We have leftovers on Christmas Day. We had ham, leftover grilled chicken, strawberry pretzel salad, Texas Roadhouse mini rolls (the ones from the grocery store), air fried diced potatoes, corn, and stuffing. The kids would only eat the mozzarella sticks from QwikTrip and a roll lol. My sister, brother in law and all 3 of my nieces came over on Christmas Eve. They all woke up with the stomach flu on Christmas Day. Hoping none of the rest of my family gets it. The girls got a makeup kit and of course wanted to give their aunt a makeover and of course used the lipstick on me after they used it

Reported for pushing your views on others.

I went into Dunkin Donuts yesterday morning and got our drinks. I am friendly with most of the employees. As I walked in, there was 1 other customer in there.

I said "Merry Christmas everyone"

Someone replied "WE DON'T ALL CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS"

No the person who said this was NOT the young lady who was working wearing the Hijab. It was the morbidly obese young lady with multi color hair and 20+ piercings from the next up.

I preceded to tell her how when I was 11 years old and had a paper route the majority of customers were older Jewish people and wished me a Happy Hanukkah. I also told her that I never once said I didn't celebrate the holiday. So as I was leaving I wished her a Happy Thursday and asked if she was offended by the word Thursday.

I don't get it. Someone wishes someone a Merry Whatever. Just be happy that it was a nice gesture and not a middle finger. Too much anger in this world lately.

She actually might have a problem with Thursday being named after the patriarchal male Norse god, Thor's Day. Hell yeah!

This is sadly our world today.

Years ago, I held a door open for a young woman carrying bags, and she told me, "I'm perfectly fine opening the door myself, you can close it now." So I did, letting her feel empowered to open it on her own.

I don't know if it was a sexist thing or the color of the shirt I wore that day offended her, or if she didn't want me to be breathing on her as she walked by (this was shortly after covid).

Whatever the reason, that was the last time I did that for a woman.

I was brought up to be respectful and courteous to strangers. People these days are just weird.

I would have just said that I'm just being courteous and polite.

But yeah, chivalry is dead and isn't coming back unless there's a major war that sends us back to a blue collar society. Then they'll need us again.

She thought one or more of the following…

1. You were trying to creep on her
2. You stunk
3. You were gross
4. Your breath was terrible
