Default 2025: The Official What Are You Opening for Christmas Thread

Chaotic year to say the least. I’m sure everyone can relate. Hoping to have a really fun Christmas with my son breaking open these 80 Hobby boxes spanning 21 different releases of non-Sports Cards. Follow along in the box break section for a full breakdown starting Christmas Day! I hope everybody has an amazing holiday and is able to pull something they want to keep for their personal collection. As usual, we have opted to go a bit old school, to try and pull some cool sketches or older autographs. Everything about this break is exciting for me as these are all products that I broke in larger quantities at least a decade or more ago. Have a great holiday everyone and we will get ripping sometime Christmas Day. -Michael

Rick and Morty S1... basically peak Cryptozoic. So much greatness in their releases. Good luck on the breaks!

I've got sketches in 8 of those sets. Hopefully you don't get Waterhoused too much in Indy and LOTR!

Thank you! I am missing Justin Roiland as Rick Sanchez and that’s the last autograph card I need for that set. Some of the sketches in that are phenomenal. I’m really looking forward to that break.

This thread is one of my favourites to read every year. Looks like an amazing haul to open.
Wishing you all the luck.

Very nice, you’ll have busy fingers too, my dream card from that set is an Owen Wilson/Tom Hiddleston dual autograph.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the Attack From Space boxes don't have any hits? The only difference is the box itself, which you might want to leave sealed in that case.

I think the attack from space box is 1:96 packs on sketches. I believe those were the odds I saw on nslists.com

Wow, where did you get all those 2009 Donruss Americana boxes? I never see those pop up for sale.

I am opening:

3 Mega Boxes of 2025 Topps Chrome Disney
1 Blaster Box 2025 Topps Chrome Disney
1 Breygent Season 3/4 Ghost Whisperer Box
1 Hobby Box of Lara Croft: The Cradle of Life
1 UD James Bond Black Diamond
1 2020 Topps Women of Star Wars Hobby box
1 UD James Bond No Time to Die Hobby Box

As for sports I just got a Topps baseball Holiday Advent calendar I've been opening all month long.

You’re right, those Americana’s don’t come up often. I was able to snag multiples from the same seller on eBay a few times earlier in the year. I love that checklist. Looks like you got some fun stuff you’re breaking too, good luck!

The 2012 Americana has the Grail of all grails with the Dwight Eisenhower autograph relic.

I know my partner has bought me a few singles from my wishlist, looking forward to that. Could be Star Trek autos, Doctor Who sketch cards....lots of possibilities.

Wow looks fun. I personally couldn’t do it after having 9 neck/back surgeries lol. My body would fall apart. Rick & Morty S1? I’d sell that before opening. I opened 5 cases upon initial release. Only decent thing to pull are sketch cards as there weren’t numbered parallels. Nowadays the autos aren’t doing well outside of the short printed Roiland. However based on your boxes it seems these were stashed away? The cost of boxes were very different 5+ years ago. Anyhow have a fun rip. I always enjoy reading your annual break.

Our plans changed and we're spending Christmas with extended family so went ahead and opened the 3 cases of Loki today and it was a lot of fun.

Below is the detail of what we got in terms of hits:

Loki Variants Holograms (case hit insert) - 3
TVA Holograms (case hit insert) - 3
Printing plates - 1
Autographs - 7 (5 inscriptions)

Case 1:

GPS-MA Jonathan Majors as He Who Remains B Auto
DS-SL Sasha Lane as Hunter C-20 “Hunter C-20” C
ATB-6 Time Variance Authority – Freed - Black Printing Plate 1/1

Case 2:

GPS-HI Tom Hiddleston as Loki “Glorious Purpose” A Auto
FCA-SL Sasha Lane as Hunter C-20 C Auto

Case 3:

HVA-DI Sophia Di Martino as Sylvie “Variant L1190” A Auto
DS-RG Richard E. Grant as Classic Loki “Glorious Purpose” C Auto
HVA-SL Sasha Lane as Hunter C-20 “Hunter C-20” C Auto

Wanted a Hiddleston so to hit an inscription Hiddleston was going to make this a big win for me no matter what else was hit. Huge fan of the Richard E Grant inscription too.

I'll add some pics below. Happy Christmas and good luck to everyone else on their breaks!

At least 2 of the 4 Eisenhowers have been found (one by me) but maybe one of the others is in there. Good luck, Davis!
