Im desperately trying to find a kobe auto/ jersey card for my pc before I die (im turning 40). Had an opportunity to buy this but I've heard there are a lot of fakes these days.

Without seeing the back, the card looks OK to me. Specifically the auto, the unexeptional patch and the serial numbering.

Looks fine, similar to other badly placed patches.

If it was fake, why would they use such a bad patch anyways.

Agree. The link in the OP also includes an image of the back.

This card and serial number have a recorded eBay sale from years ago, but unfortunately no longer include images.

Maybe I’m off base, but it feels like you’re seeking out people who will validate your skepticism. If that’s the case, move on and find another Kobe patch auto that doesn’t give you pause. Kobe signed a bunch, and these patch autos aren’t all that rare. You’ll be able to find another one.

Visually it looks 100% real and anyone who would be skeptical is just full of it lol. Now if it's in hand and the paper feels off that's one thing but any card you see in a picture could technically be fake in hand.

A lot of it boils down to who are you buying it from? I would be skeptical of buying an expensive card like this from an unreputable source, mainly for opportunity for scam though & not that card is fake.

Also it's risky buying ungraded cards that are this expensive if the seller is also sketchy / unknown also. There could be some crease or major condition issue. Something to keep in mind.
