I hope Tiger takes the captaincy.

I knew he turned it down for 2025 and wasn't great in the format but this team looks lifeless.

I see this take everywhere, but I don't understand it. What makes anyone think Tiger would be a good captain? For one, he is the most non team golfer of all team, and secondly, it's naive to think he hasn't been moderately or even highly involved behind the scenes in the past 3+ Ryder Cups. He has absolutely had a say in pairings, captains picks, etc. Just because he's an elite golfer doesn't mean he would be a good captain, just as it doesn't automatically make him a good course designer.

I don't think Tiger will touch this team until he knows he has a surefire winner, and the American's are lost at the moment. It's hard to even predict who will make the team in 2027 outside of like 3 guys. We really need some superstars to emerge in the next 2 years, but that seems unlikely.

Biggest reason for him to be captain is his knowledge of golfers and their game. That is his biggest strength.

He would pick the best squad.
