Default Hobby good vs Real life good

is a real thing

Here are a bunch of players that are having really solid seasons, that, atleast from what i can tell, DO NOT SELL (obviously minus like crazy Reds Golds 1/1s)

Brayan Bello
Lenyn Sosa
Ketel Marte
Michael Busch
Hunter Goodman
Shea Langeliers
Geraldo Perdomo
Andrew Abbott
Bryan Woo

anyone got any others?

Frankly anyone who's not in the HOF or HOF lock trajectory is probably in this category. Lots of Paul Konerkos and Lance Berkmans that no one buys.

Would be more interested to see a list of guys that weren't real life good but are hobby good in some component. Stubby Clapp, Chris Duncan, and Chan Ho Park come to mind.

Jose Ramirez should be much more valued than he is. He’s been a legit superstar for awhile now but never valued as one

Trevor Story has been the savior of the Red Sox this year. After the past few years of constant nagging injury, it's nice to see him finally back healthy and producing in his 30's.

Juan Soto has been described as “trash” on these forums.

Stubby Clapp - enough said; Canadian
Chris Duncan - human interest story, RIP
Chan Ho Park - Korean pioneer

For a forum full of guys who claim to hate “Flipper Bois” a lot of yall sure act like Flipper Bois (this isn’t directed at OP, just general sentiment)

Players that are real life good but aren’t one of the 10 Hobby Good players are perfect for actual collectors

hobby good is not the same as Hobby Good. But hobby good is what makes the wheels on the bus go round & round. Go Team!

The Tigers this year have occasionally fielded a line up with all 9 spots having an OPS+ > 100. I think the Brewers might have pulled this off too. That’s a whole bunch of really good Baseball players.

He's barely even Baseball good.

I think OP has a point (and a good buying opportunity), but I’m not going to pour one out for Lenyn Sosa until players like Frank Robinson get the respect they deserve

Is Stubby Clapp related to Rusty Kuntz?

Thought I heard that somewhere…

I went to a show in the Boston area today. A dealer had a Brayan Bello base Bowman Chrome 1st Bowman listed for $20. If that thing sells at that price, I am rich.

There are really only three active players who are "Hobby Good" right now....Ohtani, Judge, and Skenes.

There are probably 20-30 "real life good" active players who are not currently (and may never be) in the hobby spotlight.

I'd say that Manny Machado and Jose Ramirez are probably two of the most ignored "real life good" players right now.

I like to speculate a little for fun.
Because the potentially hobby good guys cards have multiple all star seasons already priced in, the inevitable 50-70% haircut nutpunch isn’t my idea of fun.
I prefer the search to rise from bum to real life good. The occasional big victory is plenty to scratch the itch and the catch and release of failures at a much smaller loss/wash is way more appealing to me.

Zach Neto not yet being mentioned (only until just now) says a lot. Also, Brice Turang has something to say as well.
