My pitbull sure does. He’s having Vietnam flashbacks right now. Always feel bad for him on two days a year.

It’s raining right now where I’m at and they still had the fireworks show go off right before it. Now everyone is scattering like roaches out of the amphitheater. All neighbors still shooting them all. Sirens going off. That’s Florida for you.

I loved 'em as a kid, but yeah, as an adult homeowner, you do kind of worry about your own roof catching on fire from as a result of other people not being careful with them. I also dislike that the noise frightens pets to varying degrees. Our current dog is pretty OK with them, but they used to really bother the two we had before him.

Love them. One day out of the year we get to 'splode things up real good.

Don't like it? You and your pooch can join Rosie O'Donnell in Ireland, you hippies.

We usually do a decent show each year. This year the neighbors that moved in three houses up recently decided it would be fun to shoot their mortars without the tube multiple times, so that was less than fun.

I just watched the city show from my driveway (well, at least the 75% at top as some trees a few blocks away block the bottom part), and its a good solid 20 minutes with a spectacular finale. Good enough for me.

One thing I have noticed this year is that there seems to be a lot less fireworks going off in the nearby neighborhoods, tonight, and especially in the run-up during the week. Not sure why, but the air is much less acrid than usual which is nice, and I've only heard one fire truck siren tonight, so far.

I don't hate them, but I find them pointless.

Sure do

I didn’t see a single firework this year and I’m very happy about it

Kids are old enough now for pickup and drop off

I'm indifferent now, liked them a lot more as a kid. My main concern now are disturbing the kids & dogs.

Sorry to all of you, I am one of the annoying people who set them off.

To be fair though, the entire neighbor, except for one house, comes out and watches or set them off as well. There is like 20 houses in my street, and maybe 15 of them set them off, and we wait for each other to be done, so it lasts for probably an hour before we all go in.

The dogs deal with it just fine. One actually likes to be in the back yard when we set them off in the front yard.

I got a new kitten about 2 months ago, and he was very uncomfortable with them going off all last night. Spent a lot of time cuddling on my wife and I's laps.

I love them and can't get enough. I could see hating them/thinking they are pointless if you live in one of the many states that either doesn't allow you to light them or limit you to small things that don't fly over 10 feet in the air.

For the rest of us we know where to get the huge stuff, how to get it cheap, how to smuggle it across state lines, and how to have a blast literally.

I loved them as a kid, but don't understand why grown people stay up until 1 am in the morning setting them off and making everyone's dogs miserable for the entire night

This. It’s cool when you’re a little kid growing up for a couple years but the novelty wears off as you grow older. Or at least….it should wear off.

Why should it wear off? It’s just people having fun and celebrating. Let them enjoy themselves.

Love fireworks when appropriate. Wish the pricks that set them off on my stree in front of my house would all lose hands though.
