Default Select vertical rpa more then horizontal rpa!

I have a 2020 select rpa tie dye burrow rpa /25. Did I make a good investment vs getting a vertical rpa low numbered value wise then the horizontal ones? I put 2250 on it for a value all the ones on eBay are asking way more for the same card! No idea on true value. I traded 1800 in cards for it.

Verticals of any card are historically better than horizontal.

Yes, vertical is better than horizontal.

I hope you were able to get a good price on that Burrow, as:

1. Select is mostly considered a "B" tier product.
2. It is a sticker auto.
3. It is ungraded.

If you did in fact pay close to $2,250 or thereabouts for that card, looking at recent eBay comps, you could have gotten a PSA 9 Mint / 10 Auto On-Card Autograph card for less than $2,250 from sets that hold their value better, such as Flawless, Immaculate, and Impeccable.

Joe Burrow Optic Contenders On Card PSA 9 / Auto 10 ($1,200):

Joe Burrow Impeccable Uncirculated On-Card Auto RPA ($1,425): https://www.ebay.com/itm/17699277086...Bk9SR7ayqKrMZQ

Joe Burrow Flawless Ruby /20 On-Card Auto PSA 9 Auto 10 ($2,500): https://www.ebay.com/itm/37598662559...Bk9SR7iyqKrMZQ

Same card as above, just $2,300:

Joe Burrow Immaculate 2-Color RPA On-Card Auto ($2,000):

Some people might, but I don't really care so much about RPAs beginning in 2020 when Panini disclaimed that the material wasn't from any particular player, game or event. Prior to COVID, at least most of the stuff was player worn.

I see there's a price tag on your card, so I'm not sure if you picked it up at a card show or whatever, but you should always check eBay comps when purchasing a card, and don't let FOMO prevent you from walking away if you think the card is overpriced.

Happy Collecting!

I traded 1800 in cards for it. I just put that because I was going lower then asking prices for the exact card on ebay!

WAY better.

Burrow is fine. I like him. He'll be dicey for HOF due to injuries.

Bold take

It's not like he needs to play another decade to enter the HOF conversation or anything

Can attest to this.

Recently sold a Chris Godwin Select Tie Dye Vertical RPA /10 RPA for $400, immediately after he re-signed with the team.

Listed a Chris Godwin Select Tie Dye Horizontal RPA /10 (with a better patch), thinking it would snap sell for the same amount a few days later but it hardly got a sniff until I gave up and ended up taking it down.

Will eventually list it when the season starts.

lesson learned.

Selling in the off-season sucks anyways. 90% of the time, I wind up leaving money on the table.

Dunno... I hope he does well.
I collect Burrow a bit... and JaMarr Chase a lot more.

Right now, Joe's basically headed to Matt Ryan type territory ("HOF moments but not HOF career"... OPOY or MVP convo stats some years, good stats most years, lost a SB, etc).

But Burrow's going to be 29 before this season ends, and he's only had three good NFL years so far... because he's only had three healthy seasons so far (knee, calf, wrist). There are just too many big stats modern era QBs for that to do it. It won't be good if Joe Cool has another big injury. If he can get a SB win year or have even a couple more huge years like 2024, he'd be likely HOF, yeah.

Imagine being 8th all time in passing yards, 9th in passing TDs, an all pro, an mvp, gone to the super bowl, and some rando online thinks youre not a HOFer.

There's only 1 Joe Cool, and he's already a HOFer

Each post is an elaborate display of the Dunning Kruger effect
