Default Why no love for Teoscar?

Looking at his card prices compared to what he does on the field makes me wonder why this guy isn’t more popular? Do Dodger fan only have money for Ohtani?

I grabbed a 2017 Topps Black RC of him back in the day, because why not?

He's awesome, sometimes I wonder if since his RCs have the stink of the Astros on them it hurts his prices. Plus they are 2017 cards too so lots of people despise 2017 Astros.

He's in his Age 32 season, last year was his first with the Dodgers and his career statistics aren't on a HOF path. I'm sure his Dodgers cards will get some love long term though but nothing out of the ordinary like Fernando Valenzuela, Kirk Gibson or Orel Hershiser

I'd want Teoscar on my team.

Guys crushes baseballs and seems like a genuinely fun guy.

Doesn't have 1k hits, never hit more than 33 hrs in a season, never hit 300, his war is under 19 and he's 33 years old this season. He's a good baseball player nothing more.

This is what it is. Generally speaking, people in the hobby only focus on a star or two from each team. I'd reckon Teoscar might not even be the fifth or sixth most popular player on the Dodgers.

Guys over 30 and not on a HOF path are pretty much invisible to card collectors.

Why isn't there more love for Max Muncy? The left handed version of Hernandez. The Dodgers have Ohtani, Betts, Freeman, Sasaki, Yamamoto. Most teams have 1-2 hobby relevant guys. He'll probably finish his career around 350 HR and no other significant stats. I'm sure there are some Teoscar super collectors out there but he'll never be someone the average collector cares about

for sure, and add in that he is a pitcher.

the hobby barely cares about the "big three", but people
seem to love wasting their money on Skenes

because he has real good power but nearly everything else is pretty middle of the league rankings with him....speed/batting average/ OBP. He falls in the same reasons for being a good homerun hitter but not someone people seeks to obtain cards or a collection of. On parallel with guys like Willy Adames, Carlos Santana, Nick Castellanos, and groups of others that have 20-30 homerun power and averages in the .250-.280 range

Not sure why I laughed so hard. Maybe because it's likely true.

Makes you wonder. Maybe the OP needs to chalk it up as an investment that didn't pan out and move on to other players.

No investment, sure I have a few nice chrome autos that I pulled, but watching this guy light up good teams and even light it up in all star games, make me wonder why he gets no hobby love, even with fair weather Dodger fans.
