Is that a Cal Ripken Jr. autograph? Did Topps mess up on the card or did someone swap the stickers? I assume it was an error by Topps and they put the wrong sticker on there? I know Upper Deck does that a lot. Another reason not to like sticker autos.

Whenever something is already pack certified (or presented that way), it seems like both PSA and Beckett just push them forward without any thought.

On FB, I recently saw a really bad Hank Aaron fake on a 1985 Woolworth's w/bogus hand numbering added that was freshly slabbed by BAS.

I don't understand why people would pay a premium for a card with the wrong auto. I can understand wanting a Ripken auto but why would you want it on someone else's card? It's also a pretty terrible looking auto.

I pulled one of the Swagerty Elite's as well. Couldn't really fathom how someone put a Magic Johnson sticker on those cards. Not that it's much better but at least the first name is "Cal". Ugh.

The best were the collegiate patch autograph versions. Apparently at no point did Magic Johnson question why he was signing an Arizona Sun Devils patch....

This thread should prove that your collection is never 100% authenticated. It proves that they either can’t tell the difference between Cal Raleigh’s autograph and Cal Ripken Jr.’s or are to lazy to care.
