Help me buy cards

Hi Blowout - I'm new here and looking for some help

I sold a Bobby Witt card and have some funds and I want to put them into the following players:

- Jackson Chourio
- Gunnar Henderson
- Corbin Carroll


I have $1500 to spend and the rules are I must buy at least 1 card of each player.

Can't go wrong with Bowman 1sts (and you could definitely get one of each at a PSA 9 for $1500 or around there)

However, me personally I'm a big fan of Stadium Club and also the lesser known B&W cards for the photography so those are also worth looking at

Also look for golden mirror SSPs and see if you like any of those, I also really like gunnar henderson's SP image out of 2023 logofractor

Here's what you do.

Step 1. Figure out one card of each of those players that would cost you a total of $1,500 today. Write it down, don't lose it!

Step 2. Take that $1,500 and put it into an S&P 500 ETF.

Step 3. Wait 10 years.

Step 4. Price those exact three cards again and buy them (probably for less than $1,500).

You might end up skipping step 4 for one or even all of those players when they don't end up being the lock HOFer everyone is hoping they'll be.

All jokes aside, if I was doing this I would pick the lowest numbered flagship or topps chrome parallel that amount of money would buy and just pick that for each player.

A set that has all three players in the same insert set
Maybe autographed maybe not.maybe numbered
Might be a nice way to triple up all in the same year.

I do agree that the Bobby market is a little inflated right now though, but I still think he’s the best long term buy of any player under 25.

If you’re doing this for investment, I would say to remove Corbin Carroll from your list. He’s about ~70 days younger than Witt, but behind him by a full season worth of stats.

Agreed, Royals fans are die-hard. Only the Orioles are just as close with the players listed. I'd think Gunnar and Witt are matched closely price wise. Either way, it's still really hard to get key cards of the other three with all of them except Carrol likely up in price from last year.

Don’t prospect anymore but I’m still a believer in Bowman Chrome autographs. I would say If you can pick up all three, maybe even multiples.

You just never know what can happen to these young guys. Look at Vladdy after his monster breakout year. Not saying that will happen to Bobby, but the amount of confidence this forum has in him is kind of surprising. Sure he can continue his mvp like form, but also…what if he doesn’t?

I'd go Corbin Carroll Gilded RC Auto for $250, a Topps Transcendent Patch Auto of Gunnar for $900, and a Chourio Bowman 1st for $350.
