Who is CURRENTLY alpha and who gets the blame/ glory. Easy answer LeBron. Who will be the better player over the next 5 years. Luka.

As long as Lebron is there, it will be his team. It was never Anthony Davis' team. And it is not Luka's team. The only thing that could change this would be the Lakers winning the championship and Luka getting finals MVP. Outside of that, it will be Lebron's team until he leaves.

I mean players on successful teams don't even have alpha discussions any more. Elevated role player with a twist. So I guess I'm gonna take the Dodgers' fifth.

Society has issues. Tried to ignore for many years, but just crept into the upper bunk and started talking in tongues when I was trying to sleep.

I can assure you James and Luka are not having discussions over who is the alpha. And I get that the rest of the list was kind of a joke.

It's Lebron's team until he's gone

He’s the guy who comes right before Bronny off the bench during the fifth quarter exhibition play.

You don't usually discuss who the alpha and betas are -- it's instinctual, subconscious and oftentimes automatic.

If one player rolls over for the other -- metaphorically speaking -- you know what the hierarchy is. Luka is definitely the one rolling over and exposing his belly to LeBron -- one is far more respected and accomplished than the other. One player got dumped and traded to another team headed by an alpha. One player can manhandle the other, if need be.

At least one player is going to choke and possibly get exposed in the playoffs this year. That will be the one who gets the blame, unless both under-perform.

Where’s the option for “stop being an obsessive creepy little guy”.

We know who will get the ball late for a game winner.

Bron took 2 shots vs CHA and told his teammates "why did you pass to me"

Fans of 23 in red sure are a sensitive bunch. It is ok to acknowledge Lebron. It doesn't diminish the other guy and your loyalty to the club won't be questioned.

This is the correct poll answer.
Who the f**k cares who the "alpha male" is on a team? What a stupid question. Need to add "OP is a moron" to the poll choices.

Gotta stoop down to the Bron fanboi level so that the language can be understood!

At least I’ve tried to present some stimulating polls to jump start this section.

Since Wemby went down, it’s been dead here.

You’ll have to do better than a topps base rookie if you are trying to get rich.

Basketball is way more complex than that, especially on a winning team. Take the Pacers, which I am familiar with. Every single player feels they are an alpha in their own domain. When TJ is leading the secondary he takes the role. Nembhard has the authority to take any shots, and sets a model defending and distributing.

Hali, of course, maintains what he considers alpha supremacy through making clutch shots, and distributing. When he doesn't Aaron comes along and takes over, threatening alphaness until the others start performing.

Double A has a breakthrough 27-point performance and Pacers put up a video of Obi Toppin's 27 greatest dunks. And I didn't even get to Mathurin, Myles, or probably the grandaddy alpha, Siakam.

Now this all only works if coach has earned a reputation as being an alpha in his own right over the decades.

I think the single greatest question and I know it has been asked before, why are basketball collectors so fixated on alphaness and one player holding value, when team collecting and the subtle value hierarchies that come with that would create greater value, trade, and commerce.

Look at a recent Blez video. They transparently hold out the three player spots that cover cost ("beat the sort"), at the end of Prizm FOTL breaks now.

I dunno... wouldn't say that. Every post in the Odyssey thread ticks up a few hundred. They may not be members, able to express their undying gratitude...
